I never imagined this.
When I left the NHS to build Coast Medical Aesthetics, I didn’t have awards in mind. I simply wanted to create a clinic where patient safety, evidence-based practice and honest advice came first.
To now be shortlisted as a finalist in eight categories at the 2026 Leading Aesthetic Awards is something I’m incredibly proud of.
These nominations represent years of learning, continuous professional development, investing in the best education, challenging myself, and always striving to provide the highest standard of care for every patient who walks through my door.
But more than anything, they represent you.
Every patient who has trusted me with their skin.
Every recommendation you’ve made.
Every review you’ve taken the time to write.
Every person who has chosen Coast Medical Aesthetics.
Thank you for believing in me and allowing me to do a job that I genuinely love.
Whatever happens on awards night, I already feel like a winner because of the trust you’ve placed in me and the community we’ve built together.
From the bottom of my heart… thank you.
Last week I shared a patient’s skin scan results, and so many of you asked the same question…
“What products was she using?”
The answer is Obagi.
Over the last 10 months, her digital skin analysis showed significant improvements in pores, wrinkles, pigmentation, skin sensitivity and UV damage. These weren’t subjective opinions, they were objectively measured changes.
But here’s the part that’s just as important…
The reason she achieved these results wasn’t simply because she used Obagi. It was because the digital skin analysis allowed me to recommend the right Obagi products for her skin, based on what was actually happening beneath the surface.
Everyone’s skin is different. Two people can both have pigmentation, but for completely different reasons. One person may need to focus on barrier repair first, another on correcting UV damage, another on increasing cell turnover.
That’s why I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all skincare routine.
Digital skin analysis takes the guesswork out of skincare, and when it’s combined with a clinically proven system like Obagi, that’s when you can achieve measurable, long-term improvements in skin health.
This is why I recommend Obagi so passionately. Not because it’s popular, but because I’ve seen, measured and tracked the results in my own patients time and time again.
📩 If you’d like to know what your skin really needs, book a digital skin analysis and let’s build an evidence-based skincare plan that’s tailored to you.
One week into the school summer holidays… and I’m already squeezing my skincare into the tiny windows of peace.
The kids are happily in the garden, so naturally I’ve seized the opportunity for a quick facial.
Because looking after your skin isn’t about finding hours of spare time, it’s about making the most of the moments you do have. Consistency will always beat perfection.
My secret? Obagi. It’s the skincare I trust on my own skin because it’s backed by clinical evidence and delivers real, measurable results.
Now… let’s see if I can finish before I hear, “Muuuum!”
Curious which Obagi products are right for your skin? Drop me a DM or book a skin consultation, and let’s build a routine that actually works for you. 🤍

Comparison is the thief of joy.
In a world of filters, editing, perfect lighting and highlight reels, it’s so easy to believe everyone else has better skin, looks younger, or has somehow got it all figured out.
But comparison rarely tells the whole story.
As a practitioner, I see the conversations that happen behind closed doors. The insecurities. The self-criticism. The things people assume they’re alone in feeling.
Your skin doesn’t need to look like someone else’s.
Your face doesn’t need to look 20 when you’re 45.
You don’t need to chase every trend to be beautiful.
The goal should never be perfection.
It should be feeling confident, healthy and comfortable in your own skin.
If aesthetic treatments or skincare become about constantly comparing yourself to others, it’s worth asking whether you’re chasing someone else’s standard instead of embracing your own.
The best results are the ones that still look like you, just a little more rested, refreshed and confident.
Be kind to yourself. Your journey is yours alone. 🤍

Want to know why I love digital skin analysis?
This isn’t about fancy technology.
It’s about understanding skin more objectively so I can make better-informed treatment recommendations.
Curious what your skin scan would reveal?
Book a consultation or send me a message to find out if digital skin analysis is right for you.
Not all sun damage is visible.
Digital skin analysis allows us to identify UV damage beneath the surface, helping us protect your skin before it becomes visible.
Pores don’t actually open and close.
But healthier, less congested skin often results in pores appearing smaller and less noticeable over time.
Wrinkles aren’t just about ageing.
Hydration, collagen, inflammation, UV exposure and your skincare routine all influence how your skin looks over time.
Pigmentation often changes so gradually that we don’t notice it ourselves.
Objective measurements help us track those subtle improvements with confidence.
This is one of my favourite measurements.
A healthier skin barrier often means calmer, stronger, more resilient skin—and that’s the foundation of every successful skincare journey.
Better information leads to better decisions.
Rather than guessing, we can personalise your skincare and monitor whether it’s actually delivering results.
This is why I love digital skin analysis.
Not because it’s impressive technology.
Because it helps me understand your skin more objectively, personalise your treatment plan and measure progress along the way.
Evidence-based skincare isn’t about chasing perfection, its about making informed decisions that give your skin the best chance to thrive.

Going on holiday? ☀️
Don’t let your skincare routine take a holiday too.
You don’t need to pack your entire bathroom cabinet, but a few smart choices can make all the difference to how your skin looks and feels when you get home.
Don’t stop everything.
One of the biggest mistakes I see is people abandoning their skincare completely.
Instead, simplify your routine. Keep your skin clean, hydrated and protected. Consistency beats perfection.
Pack the essentials.
Your holiday routine doesn’t need to be complicated:
✔️ Gentle cleanser
✔️ Antioxidant (Vitamin C)
✔️ Moisturiser
✔️ Broad-spectrum SPF 50+
These products help support your skin barrier and defend against environmental damage.
What about your active ingredients?
Not everything needs to stop.
• Vitamin C: Keep using it.
• Retinol: If your skin tolerates it well, you may be able to continue. If you’re in intense sun or your skin becomes irritated, reduce the frequency or take a short break.
• Hydroquinone: Usually doesn’t need to stop, but only if you’re committed to excellent sun protection. If prolonged sun exposure is unavoidable, speak to your practitioner about what’s best for you.
Go easy on exfoliation.
Heat, UV, salt water and chlorine can all challenge your skin barrier.
If your skin feels tight, sore or sensitive, reduce or pause exfoliating acids until it’s settled
Hydration matters.
Flying, air conditioning, swimming, heat and even cocktails can all leave your skin dehydrated.
Support your skin with a good moisturiser, drink plenty of water and don’t forget your lips too.
SPF isn’t just for the beach.
The majority of UV exposure happens during everyday moments.
Walking to breakfast.
Sightseeing.
Lunch outside.
Driving.
Choose a broad-spectrum SPF 50+, apply enough and reapply every two hours when outdoors.
Enjoy your holiday… your skin should too.
Holiday skincare isn’t about having the perfect routine.
It’s about protecting your skin today, so you don’t spend the next six months trying to undo preventable sun damage.
Your future skin will thank you.

10 ml of filler for £650.
Yes, the price catches your attention.
But for me, that’s not the biggest concern.
My first question is:
How can anyone know what’s appropriate for your face before they’ve assessed you?
A consultation should never start with a predetermined number of syringes.
It should start with understanding you.
Your anatomy.
Your facial proportions.
Your skin quality.
Your concerns.
Your goals.
Only then can an appropriate treatment plan be discussed.
Sometimes that may include filler.
Sometimes it may include skincare, collagen-stimulating treatments or other options.
Sometimes the most appropriate recommendation is no treatment at all.
That’s what personalised, ethical practice looks like.
If you’re considering any aesthetic treatment, don’t just ask:
“How much does it cost?”
Also ask:
✔️ Why is this treatment being recommended?
✔️ Why this amount?
✔️ Is this the most appropriate option for me?
✔️ What evidence supports the products being used?
✔️ What happens if there’s a complication?
Your face isn’t a package deal.
It deserves an individual assessment, honest advice and a treatment plan designed specifically for you.
I’d much rather lose a sale than recommend a treatment that isn’t in someone’s best interests.

“I can’t use retinol.”
It’s probably one of the most common things I hear in clinic.
And sometimes, that’s absolutely true. There are situations where vitamin A isn’t appropriate, such as during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, or with certain skin conditions.
But more often than not, it’s not that your skin can’t tolerate retinol…
It’s that:
• the wrong product was chosen
• it was introduced too quickly
• your skin barrier wasn’t ready
• or you weren’t given the right guidance.
This is exactly why I choose Obagi Retinol.
It isn’t just about the percentage. Obagi’s retinol uses microencapsulation technology, which gradually releases the active ingredient into the skin. This helps improve tolerability while still delivering the benefits vitamin A is renowned for.
As a Nurse Prescriber with a Master’s degree in Health Science, I don’t choose products because they’re popular—I choose them because the clinical evidence, formulation and long-term outcomes support their use.
When I recommend Obagi Retinol, I’m not simply recommending a product.
I’m assessing:
✔️ Your skin barrier
✔️ Your skin concerns
✔️ Your previous experience with vitamin A
✔️ Your lifestyle
✔️ Your goals
Sometimes the right starting point isn’t retinol at all. It’s repairing your skin barrier first.
Because healthy skin will always respond better to active ingredients than compromised skin.
If you’ve previously “failed” with retinol, it doesn’t necessarily mean retinol isn’t for you. It might just mean you haven’t found the right product or the right plan.
Book a Skin Consultation or Digital Skin Analysis, and let’s find the approach that’s right for your skin.

Medical microneedling… what makes it medical?
It’s a question I rarely hear but it’s an important one.
Medical microneedling isn’t simply a treatment performed with a device. It’s a treatment led by clinical assessment, evidence-based decision making, and an understanding of how the skin heals.
Before I even reach for the device, I’m assessing your skin, your medical history, your medications, your healing potential, and whether microneedling is actually the right treatment for you.
Because sometimes the best treatment isn’t microneedling at all.
When it is appropriate, medical microneedling can help improve skin quality, stimulate collagen and elastin, soften fine lines, improve acne scarring, reduce pigmentation, refine pores and support healthier, stronger skin over time.
The results don’t come from needles alone.
They come from choosing the right treatment, at the right depth, for the right person.
That’s what makes it medical.
If you’re wondering whether medical microneedling is right for your skin, I’d be happy to assess your concerns and create a personalised treatment plan.

☀️ Has this heat got your skin breaking out?
You’re not imagining it.
Hot weather, humidity, sweat, SPF, increased oil production and touching your face more often can all contribute to blocked pores and unexpected breakouts.
If your skin suddenly feels oilier, congested or you’re noticing more spots than usual, it might be time to switch up your skincare.
💙 Obagi CLENZIderm is specifically designed for blemish-prone skin, helping to:
• Unclog pores
• Reduce excess oil
• Calm active breakouts
• Help prevent new blemishes from forming
Don’t just battle the spots you can see, treat what’s happening beneath the surface too.
Not sure if CLENZIderm is right for your skin? Send me a DM and I’ll help you choose the best routine for your skin concerns.
