Life continues to throw us curveballs, and in light of what has happened with Ivy, I have made the difficult decision to work from home for the time being.

Ivy has suffered a Grade 4/5 slipped disc, which is the most severe level of this injury. After a lot of consideration, we have decided that surgery is not the right option for her for a number of reasons. We have ordered her a wheelchair and will continue to do everything we can to help her adapt to her new way of life and enjoy the best quality of life possible.

Because of this, I need to be at home to care for her and let her out into the garden for toilet breaks throughout the day. I will still be working at school in the mornings and will return home at lunchtime, where I will continue offering nails and beauty treatments from my little room upstairs.

This arrangement is temporary, and I am hoping to return to Lanercost after September. However, right now this is what I need to do for my family, my pets, and myself.

I truly hope you can support me in this decision and continue to come to me for your treatments. I absolutely love what I do, and I genuinely enjoy seeing each and every one of you.

It’s been another year full of changes for Captiva Beauty, both personally and professionally. Over the last 12 months I began working at Lanercost School as the school cook – a role I thoroughly enjoy. It means I’m close to Alfie, never miss anything school-related (he’s growing up way too fast!), and I have that all-important financial security… and yes, a pension (apparently I’m getting old, hate to admit it!).

Because of this, it made complete sense to find beauty premises close to the school, and I honestly couldn’t be more grateful to Charlotte for providing such a beautiful, calm space. I now work from Lanercost Monday to Friday afternoons, offering treatments in a relaxed and peaceful environment.

I also still offer from Carlisle-home based appointments on evenings and Saturdays – slightly less relaxed (or maybe too relaxed 🤔), as children, husband, French bulldogs and Bengal cats are almost always in attendance 🐶 🐈 🧑‍🧒‍🧒🏡

I now use Fresha for bookings, which on the whole is great and sends appointment reminders (though not the location, so please always double-check if you’re unsure!). However, I will still be making all appointments so if you need to change anything drop me a message 💬 or give me a call 📱
