This is one of the most common conversations I have with women in perimenopause and menopause.

Many assume it's simply hormones.

While hormones certainly play a role, they're often only part of the story.
As oestrogen levels change, inflammation levels can also increase. Sleep quality often declines, stress resilience can reduce, and the body becomes less efficient at recovering from daily demands.

At the same time, factors such as gut health and Omega-3 balance can influence how effectively the body manages inflammation and supports brain function.

This can show up as:
✨ Brain fog
✨ Low motivation
✨ Poor sleep
✨ Mood fluctuations
✨ Low energy

The good news?
These symptoms aren't always something you simply have to "put up with."

Supporting gut health, reducing inflammation, improving nutritional balance and understanding what's happening inside your body can make a significant difference.
Sometimes the first step isn't another supplement.
It's understanding what your body is trying to tell you.

Have you noticed changes in your energy, mood or sleep during perimenopause or menopause?

I'm currently loving the fact that my desk is finally clear, organised, and im on top of things at last.

It's funny how the little things can make busy days that bit easier and more enjoyable.

I never realised when I became a business owner was just how much admin there is every single day, week and month.I don't mind a bit of paperwork, but wow, some of it is definitely next level!

I'd love to know what's one thing thats making your days a little easier or brighter?

peace

Maybe.

But maybe not.

One thing I've learned over the last few years is that inflammation can show up in ways we don't always recognise.

It doesn't necessarily mean swollen joints or obvious illness.

Sometimes it appears as:
• Skin flare-ups
• Rosacea
• Eczema
• Joint discomfort
• Fatigue
• Brain fog
• Digestive issues
• Poor recovery

One factor that can contribute to inflammation is an imbalance between Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids.

Most of us consume plenty of Omega-6 through modern foods but relatively little Omega-3.
Over time, this imbalance may affect how efficiently the body regulates inflammation.
This is one of the reasons I became so interested in test-based nutrition.
Because rather than guessing, we can measure what's happening and create a plan based on real information.

Have you ever considered that your symptoms could be connected rather than separate?

DO YOU EXFOLIATE YOUR SKIN REGULARLY? 👀
YES or NO?

Because this might surprise you…
If your skin currently feels:
→ tight
→ sensitive
→ shiny but dehydrated
→ irritated
→ red
→ reactive
→ stingy when applying products

…it may not need MORE exfoliation.
It may actually need LESS.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is women constantly trying to “scrub away” skin concerns by using:
❌ too many acids
❌ harsh scrubs
❌ exfoliating cleansers
❌ multiple active products together

And while exfoliation absolutely has its place, overdoing it can damage your skin barrier.
Your skin barrier is what helps keep hydration IN and irritation OUT.
When that barrier becomes compromised, skin can suddenly start behaving very differently.

Especially during perimenopause and menopause, when skin is already naturally becoming more delicate and sensitive.
Healthy skin should not constantly feel sore, tight or irritated.

Sometimes the biggest improvement comes when we stop over-treating the skin and start supporting it instead ❤️
✨ Gentle skincare
✨ Hydration
✨ Barrier repair
✨ Simplicity
✨ Consistency

Your skin does not need punishing to become healthy.
If your skin feels “angry” lately, your barrier may be asking for help.

✨ Thinking about semi permanent makeup but not sure what to expect?

Semi permanent makeup, permanent makeup and microblading are all forms of cosmetic tattooing designed to enhance your natural features while saving you time in your daily routine.

Whether you prefer soft, natural hair strokes, a beautifully powdered brow, a pixelated ombré effect or a more defined finish, your treatment is completely tailored to your personal style.

Every set of brows is carefully designed around your unique features, including your bone structure, natural hair placement, hair colour and skin tone. During your consultation, we'll discuss the look you want to achieve and select the most suitable shape and colour for you.

Many clients are surprised by how comfortable the treatment is thanks to modern techniques, equipment and procedures.

Results typically last between one and two years, gradually fading over time, with a colour boost recommended to keep them looking fresh. A perfecting appointment is usually required 6 to 8 weeks after your initial treatment and is included within my treatment pricing.

I also provide full aftercare support, so there are no hidden surprises and you'll feel supported every step of the way ❤️

If you have any questions about permanent makeup, microblading or whether it's right for you, feel free to get in touch. I'd be delighted to help ✨

WHEN PEOPLE HEAR “COLLAGEN,” THEY OFTEN THINK OF BEAUTY TRENDS.

But collagen is about so much more than that.

When I started going through menopause, I noticed changes in my skin that I couldn’t ignore.

My skin felt less firm.
Less plump.
Less resilient.

The healthy glow I’d always had didn’t seem the same anymore, and suddenly my skin felt thinner and more fragile.

At first, I thought I just needed different skincare.

But what I later understood was this:
As we go through perimenopause and menopause, collagen levels naturally begin to decline.

And collagen is incredibly important for the skin.
It helps provide:
✨ Firmness
✨ Structure
✨ Strength
✨ Support
✨ Elasticity

This is one of the reasons menopausal skin can suddenly start to feel:
→ drier
→ looser
→ thinner
→ more lined
→ less “bouncy”
But supporting collagen isn’t about chasing younger skin.

For me, it’s about supporting healthy skin through every stage of life.
And true collagen support goes far beyond one miracle product.

It’s about:
✨ Consistent skincare
✨ Hydration
✨ Barrier support
✨ Nutrition
✨ Lifestyle
✨ Looking after ourselves from the inside out
Because healthy skin is connected to overall wellbeing too ❤️

This stage of life taught me that skincare isn’t about perfection.
It’s about support, nourishment and understanding what our skin needs now.
If your skin feels different during menopause, you are absolutely not imagining it.

One of the reasons I love oxygen treatments is because they’re not just relaxing facials they’re designed to actively stimulate and energise the skin.

Using up to 98–99% pure oxygen, the treatment helps infuse hydration and active ingredients deeper into the lower layers of the skin rather than just sitting on the surface.
I often describe it as “putting the skin on a treadmill.”

The oxygen helps stimulate skin cells, boost circulation and encourage that healthy fresh glow we all want from our skin.
And the best part?

The skin doesn’t just look good immediately afterwards…

You’ll often continue to see improvements in hydration, radiance and skin texture over the next few days as the skin continues to respond to the treatment.

And yes this is another treatment I regularly have myself because I only offer treatments I genuinely believe in.

When treatments are combined with the correct professional skincare at home, that’s where we really start seeing healthier, stronger, more resilient skin long term.

DOES YOUR MAKEUP SUDDENLY LOOK WORSE IN SUMMER?

Foundation separating…
Makeup looking patchy by lunchtime…
Skin suddenly looking dry, cakey or uneven…

And no matter how many different foundations you try, nothing seems to sit properly anymore.
Sound familiar?

Here’s something many women don’t realise:
It’s not always the makeup.

Sometimes, your skin is actually dehydrated ❤️
During warmer weather — and especially during perimenopause and menopause — skin can lose hydration much more easily.

When skin becomes dehydrated, makeup often starts to:
→ cling to dry patches
→ settle into lines
→ separate throughout the day
→ look dull or heavy on the skin

This is because dehydrated skin lacks water, which can affect how makeup sits and wears.

And often, adding more makeup only makes the problem look worse.

What your skin usually needs first is support underneath the makeup:
✨ Hydration
✨ Barrier support
✨ Gentle skincare
✨ Lightweight nourishing products

When skin is properly hydrated and supported, makeup tends to sit more smoothly, naturally and comfortably again.

Healthy-looking makeup always starts with healthy-looking skin ✨
If your makeup suddenly isn’t sitting the way it used to, your skin may be asking for hydration not heavier foundation

WHEN I STARTED GOING THROUGH MENOPAUSE, MY SKIN CHANGED IN WAYS I WASN’T EXPECTING.

It started to feel less firm.
Less plump.
Not as “bouncy” as it once was.

I began noticing more lines, changes in texture and a loss of elasticity in my skin.
At first, I honestly thought I was imagining it.

But I wasn’t.

One of the biggest changes we as women experience during perimenopause and menopause is the gradual loss of firmness and elasticity within the skin.
As our hormone levels change, our skin naturally begins producing less collagen and elastin.

Collagen is what helps give skin its firmness and structure.
Elastin is what gives skin that bounce and resilience.

And when these start to decline, skin can suddenly feel:
→ thinner
→ drier
→ more fragile
→ less radiant
→ more lined or crepey

No matter how much moisturiser I applied, my skin still didn’t feel the same anymore.

What I eventually realised was this:
My skin didn’t need harsher products or more products.
It needed support.

This is one of the reasons I love ingredients like peptides ✨
Peptides help support the skin and encourage it to look firmer, smoother and healthier over time.

They’re gentle, supportive and work beautifully as part of a consistent skincare routine — especially during menopause, when skin needs nourishment rather than overload.
I often describe peptides as little “coaches” for the skin, helping it function more effectively again as our skin changes.

And honestly?

Understanding what my skin needed during menopause changed everything for me.
That’s also why I’m so passionate about helping other women understand and support their skin through these changes too ❤️
If your skin suddenly feels different and you’re not sure why, you are absolutely not alone.

How long does a permanent makeup treatment take? ✨

This is one of the most common questions I get before an appointment.

The answer will depend on the treatment you're having, as different procedures require different amounts of time. As a general guide, I recommend allowing around two hours for your appointment.

This doesn't mean two hours of treatment on the skin. Your appointment also includes important preparation time, such as:

✨ Completing any necessary paperwork
✨ Discussing your treatment in detail
✨ Colour selection and matching
✨ Brow mapping and design (if applicable)
✨ Answering any questions you may have

I always take the time to ensure you're fully informed, comfortable, and happy with every aspect of the procedure before we begin.

If your chosen treatment requires additional time, you'll be advised beforehand.
