I'm Donna, 39 (hanging on to my 30s until 1st November 😂), a Scorpio, a proud dog mum and the face behind Aesthetics by DLT!

💉 MY PASSION
I'm a GDC-registered dental nurse and aesthetics practitioner with a huge passion for skin, beauty and helping people feel confident in themselves. I'm always learning, growing and looking for ways to improve what I do!

💕 OUTSIDE THE CLINIC
I'm a complete homebody! Give me my PJs, snacks, Pepsi Max and a day of doing absolutely nothing and I'm happy! 😂

💚 I love York, Turkey, BBQ chicken, my gorgeous dog Xavier and, of course, my partner Anthony, who's also my biggest supporter. ❤️

I'm ambitious, determined, full of ideas and always working on my own confidence too. Because even those of us who help others feel confident have our own little insecurities!

💚💗 FILLER AMOUNTS: A VISUAL GUIDE 💗💚

Ever wondered how much dermal filler actually is? 👀

When we talk about 1ml, 2ml or even 5ml of filler, it can sound like a lot! But the reality might surprise you. 💗

✨ 0.5ml – A tiny amount for subtle enhancements and definition.

✨ 1ml – Often used for lips or smaller areas requiring volume.

✨ 2ml – Can be distributed across areas such as the lips, cheeks or nasolabial folds.

✨ 3ml – Allows for more noticeable enhancements or treatment across multiple areas.

🚩 5 RED FLAGS TO LOOK OUT FOR 🚩

When you’re trusting someone with your face, choosing your practitioner should involve more than looking at their price list or scrolling through a few before-and-afters.

There are some questions you should never feel awkward asking.

Can they show you their qualifications and insurance? Do they have a strong understanding of facial anatomy? Do their results look individual to each person rather than the same look recreated again and again?

And importantly, what happens if something goes wrong?

Complications can occur even in experienced hands. Your practitioner should be able to recognise them, respond appropriately and have clear protocols and support in place.

Price matters too, but an unusually low price should prompt questions about the product being used, where it has been sourced, who has prescribed it where a prescription is required, and whether the practitioner is appropriately trained and insured.

Aesthetics should never be about finding the cheapest appointment possible.

It should be about knowing who is treating you, what is being used, why it is appropriate for you and what support is available afterwards.
