"I really enjoyed having my hair and makeup done, while having a coffee and a chat with Louise and Ali! It was such a chilled experience in a completely relaxed environment. Once I got over the initial nerves, I loved posing for the shoot, it was very empowering. I would do it again any day!" - Miss V

A beautiful morning at for Libbys Wedding.
The power of Facial Massage
Massage is such a big deal during a facial because it’s doing far more than just “feeling nice”, it’s actively changing how your skin and underlying systems function.
At a basic level, facial massage boosts circulation. When you stimulate the skin, you increase blood flow, which delivers more oxygen and nutrients to your skin cells. That’s what gives that immediate post-facial glow, it’s not just products, it’s your skin functioning better.
It also supports the lymphatic drainage system. Gentle, rhythmic movements help move excess fluid and toxins out of the face, which can reduce puffiness, especially around the eyes and jawline. That’s why people often look more sculpted right after.
Another major piece is muscle tension. Your face holds a surprising amount of stress (think jaw clenching, brow tension). Massage relaxes those muscles, which can soften expression lines over time and make the face look less tight or fatigued.
There’s also a nervous system effect. That reduces stress hormones like cortisol, which in turn helps with inflammation, breakouts, and overall skin health.
And finally, massage improves product absorption. By warming the skin and increasing circulation, it helps serums and oils pe*****te more effectively, so everything you apply works harder.
The power of massage isn’t just one thing…it’s the combination: better circulation, less fluid retention, relaxed muscles, calmer nervous system, and more effective skincare. That’s why a facial without massage often feels like it’s missing the core of what makes the treatment transformative.
