May is Mental Health Awareness Month—a time to slow down, check in, and remember that it’s okay to not be okay. Working as a beautician, I’m so lucky to be in a space where people feel comfortable to open up, share their stories, and just be themselves. It’s more than beauty—it’s connection, trust, and creating a safe place where you can talk freely without judgment. I’m reminded every day that so many people are carrying things we can’t see, and sometimes all they need is someone to listen. Your mental health matters just as much as your physical health, and speaking up is a sign of strength.
