This is a textbook hollow tear trough: a genuine loss of support under the eye casting a shadow, not pigmentation and not loose skin. She’s young, skin quality excellent, collagen and elastin intact. That’s what makes someone an ideal candidate, and it’s why the result reads like this straight away.
We treat this area with the only dermal filler in the world licensed specifically for the tear trough, and we’ve been doing it for over ten years. That matters. Why do some lines stay after treatment? 👀 Did we not put enough in?!?

Look closely at the crow’s feet on slide 2.

✨ Gold circle = smoother. Those lines were caused by muscle movement, and relaxing that muscle has softened the lines and crease caused by it.

⚪ Dashed circles = still there. These aren’t lines caused by muscle movement - the proof being the fact that they are still there even when the muscle is completely relaxed. They’re skin quality lines, caused by lost collagen and elasticity.

As we get older - especially after menopause - skin becomes thinner and less springy. It creases even when the muscles are completely relaxed - because relaxing a muscle can’t rebuild skin.

That’s why the best results usually come from treating both:

→ the skin itself

Why we sometimes say “not yet” to lip filler 👄

If your top lip seems to disappear when you smile, adding filler straight away isn’t always the answer.

The volume can get tucked away the moment you smile, and adding more to compensate can leave lips looking heavy rather than natural.

For some of our patients, a lip flip comes first. It gently relaxes the top lip so it shows more when you smile. Once that’s in place, filler has something to work with, and a little goes a lot further.

This patient had a lip flip first, followed by a subtle filler treatment. The result is more lip on show when she smiles, a softer, more balanced shape, and nothing overdone ✨

Every lip is different, which is why we always assess how your lips move, not just how they look at rest.
