10 years ago, I opened the doors not knowing what to expect. I wondered if anyone would turn up, if taking the risk was worth it, and why anyone would choose me for their haircut. There were plenty of sleepless nights, a lot of anxiety, and more self-doubt than I’d like to admit.

But I took the leap anyway.

Looking back now, I honestly can’t put into words how incredible these last 10 years have been.

To every single person who has walked through our doors over the past decade - thank you. Your support, loyalty, and belief in us means more than you’ll ever know. We are incredibly grateful to have had each and every one of you in our chairs.

To all the barbers who have been part of Duke Hare, both past and present, thank you for being part of this journey. I’ve been lucky enough to work alongside some truly talented and great people, and each of you has played a part in shaping what Duke Hare has become.

From the very beginning, all I wanted was to create a place where people could come to work, have their haircut, be themselves, have a laugh, open up if they needed to, and feel like they were among friends. I like to think that’s exactly what we’ve built together.

Even now, I still carry a little bit of that anxious, autistic girl who grew up in a council house in poverty, often being told she wouldn’t amount to much. If I could go back and tell her one thing, it would simply be this:

“It all works out.”

4 apprentices, a men’s mental health course, a lot of laughs & 5 refurbishments later - Thank you to everyone who has helped make Duke Hare what it is today. This milestone belongs to all of us.

Here’s to the last 10 years, and the next 10 to come.

Kayleigh is our junior, and is receiving amazing feedback from clients so far. She available under her own service at the bottom of our service menu for £10 cuts, for a limited time.
