If I could only choose one LED wavelength for reactive or compromised skin… it would be Near Infrared. 🤍
It’s invisible to the eye, but don’t let that fool you.
NIR reaches deeper into the skin, supporting your skin cells with the energy they need to repair, recover and function at their best.
This is why I often recommend it for clients with redness, sensitivity, a weakened skin barrier or those recovering after skin treatments.
Sometimes the best thing we can do isn’t to add more products.
Sometimes we simply need to give the skin the right conditions to heal.

If you’ve been following along, you’ll know each LED wavelength has a different job… and this one’s for anyone struggling with breakouts. 💙
Blue light targets acne-causing bacteria without damaging the healthy skin around them, making it a great option for inflammatory acne.
The best bit? We don’t just treat the spots.
Healthy skin starts with a strong skin barrier, so every treatment plan is tailored to your skin rather than just what’s happening on the surface.

Next up… Near Infrared (NIR) 👀

I get asked all the time… “What does the red light actually do?”
So I thought I’d break it down 🤓
Red light isn’t just there to make your skin look glowy after a treatment (although that’s a lovely bonus 😉).
It works deeper within the skin, giving your cells the energy they need to repair, renew and function at their best.
This can help to:
✨ Support collagen production
✨ Soften the appearance of fine lines
✨ Speed up skin healing
✨ Calm inflammation
✨ Improve the appearance of post-blemish marks and uneven skin tone
One treatment is always a lovely boost, but the real magic happens with consistency.

Blue light next… and if you’ve ever struggled with breakouts, you’ll definitely want to read that one. 💙

This photo was taken whilst feeling really grateful, but carrying a lot behind that smile.
I actually wanted to post this whilst I was on holiday, but I got scared that I was oversharing, so I never did (story of my life)
A few months ago, I was recovering from an ectopic pregnancy and emergency surgery 💔, trying not to panic about taking time away from Skin Space.
Stepping back wasn’t easy and feeling out of control was even harder. I worried about losing momentum, losing bookings and letting people down.
Instead, the opposite happened.
More clients booked in, more people recommended Skin Space, and my little business continued to grow whilst I focused on getting better.
Looking back now, it’s crazy to think how much can change in a few months.
This year hasn’t gone the way I thought it would.
But being on holiday with my family, feeling stronger again and looking ahead to what’s next for Skin Space, I couldn’t help but feel incredibly grateful.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and my little business this year 🤍

The power of blue light 💡
If you’re struggling with breakouts, blue light therapy could be the perfect addition to your treatment plan.
Blue light works by targeting the acne-causing bacteria within the skin, helping to reduce active breakouts and calm inflammation without drying or irritating the skin.
Benefits of blue light therapy:
💙 Helps reduce acne-causing bacteria
💙 Calms redness and inflammation
💙 Supports clearer, healthier-looking skin
💙 Non-invasive and pain-free
💙 No downtime
One of the reasons I love LED therapy is that it’s gentle enough for even sensitive skin, yet incredibly effective when used consistently.
We all know clear skin doesn’t happen overnight. The best results come from a combination of the right homecare, professional treatments and consistency.
✨ Available as an add-on to any facial or as a standalone LED treatment.

💒 From reactive skin to mother of the groom ready.
When this lovely client joined my membership in January, she was so nervous.
She told me, “Nothing has ever worked before. I don’t think my skin can be fixed.”
🥺
Of course, this transformation didn’t happen overnight.
It’s the result of 6 months of consistency, monthly facials and the right homecare.
Together we identified her triggers, simplified her routine and focused on supporting her skin barrier. She trusted the process, stuck with it and look at the difference 🤍
A few weeks ago she told me:
“I don’t look in the mirror as much as I used to.”
“My husband and friends have commented on how good my skin is looking.”
🥹
Now she’s ready to enjoy every moment of her son’s wedding feeling confident in her skin 💃

Just me, having another SPF conversation 😅
If you’ve had a facial with me recently, there’s a good chance I’ve mentioned sunscreen at least once.
Probably twice.
Maybe three times 😉
I know I bang on about it, but there’s a reason. If you’re spending money on skincare and treatments, protecting your skin every day is one of the best things you can do.
Now tell me - are you wearing your SPF today? ☀️

A little update from me…
I had emergency surgery on Friday and will now need some time to rest and recover over the next few weeks.
I’ll be in touch with anyone whose appointments are affected as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Love Charlotte 🤍

A little skincare reminder that’s so important to know 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
My lovely client was left with waxing burns as she had forgotten to pause her actives for a few days and was using a prescription-strength Skin + Me product. (This happened at another salon)
Why did this happen?
Retinoids increase skin cell turnover, thin the outer layer of dead skin cells and speed up exfoliation. This can leave the skin more delicate, reactive and vulnerable to trauma.
When wax is applied and removed, it grips not only the hair but can also lift away the already-sensitised surface layer of skin. This can cause what’s commonly known as a waxing burn - although it’s usually skin lifting/abrasion rather than heat damage.
The result can be:
- Redness
- Soreness
- Grazing
- Raw, tender skin
- Inflammation
- Delayed barrier repair
I was able to help completely calm and heal the area - and this is how 👇🏻
I treated the area with a calming session of Dermalux LED Light Therapy to reduce inflammation, accelerate healing and support the skin barrier.
The result:
By the very next day, the skin had calmed dramatically and was already healing beautifully. Look at her skin a month on 🤗😍😍😍😍
