10 years ago, I thought I knew what I was doing… 😂

And honestly? Looking back at this colour makes me want to quietly quit my job and move country. 🫣

But this is what growth looks like.

The brunettes you see today didn’t happen overnight. They came from years of training, learning, making mistakes, understanding colour theory, learning how different hair behaves and most importantly, understanding WHY I’m doing something, not just knowing HOW to do it.

Because creating beautiful, dimensional brunettes isn’t simply about picking a nice shade and hoping for the best. It’s about formulation, placement, porosity, underlying pigment, maintenance, longevity and knowing when to push the hair… and when to leave it alone.

10 years ago, I was learning.

Today, I’m still learning, just with a lot more knowledge, experience and slightly fewer questionable colour decisions. 😂

So if you’re a stylist looking at your old work and cringing… don’t delete it.

Keep it.

Because one day, you’ll look back and realise that every “what was I thinking?!” moment helped create the stylist you are now. 🤎

Growth isn’t about being perfect from the beginning.

It’s about being willing to keep learning until your work no longer just looks better, you understand exactly why it is better. ✨

And that, for me, is the difference between doing colour… and truly understanding colour. 🤍
