Today I did something that, for a long time, was one of the biggest worries in my life…

I went for hearing aids. 🦻🏼❤️

And honestly, I never thought I’d be saying that.

When I was a little girl, doctors originally thought my hearing loss might have been caused by seizures. It affected my higher-pitched sounds, and it’s something I’ve learned to live with. Some days are easier than others, but it has always been part of my life.

I’ve worried about people noticing them, judging me or treating me differently. But why should I?

Nobody sees someone wearing glasses and says, “Oh, you’re blind then?” 👓 Yet somehow, when someone is hard of hearing, people can feel comfortable making comments, laughing, repeating themselves in a patronising way or speaking to you as though you’re thick.

And I’ve experienced that.

Being hard of hearing does NOT mean you’re stupid or need to be spoken to in that way. It doesn’t mean you’re not listening or that you don’t understand. Sometimes certain situations are simply harder for me, especially with higher-pitched sounds

So today, I made the biggest pledge to myself..

I’m not going to be embarrassed anymore and having hearing aids aren’t something to hide.

They’re discreet, but even if they weren’t, I still wouldn’t be ashamed. They’re there to help me, and that’s all that matters.

So to anyone who has ever made me feel stupid, awkward or embarrassed because I struggled to hear…

🖕🏼 Consider this my little reminder that I’m not letting those comments bother me anymore.

And to anyone putting off getting help because you’re worried about what people might think…

Please don’t.

Your hearing loss doesn’t define you. Your hearing aids don’t define you. And asking for help doesn’t make you weak.

No shame. No embarrassment. Just me ❤️🦻🏼

EXPENSIVE BLONDES - bright, blended, seamless grow out. No bands, no brassy panic washes.
RICH COPPERS - strawberry, golden copper, cowboy copper, auburn. Glossy, dimensional, formulated properly with Wella to actually LAST.
TAPE EXTENSIONS - for length and thickness, but only on healthy hair and fitted correctly. Colour matched to YOUR colour, fitted seamlessly.

A little collection of the moments that have made up the last few months… the moments that probably wouldn’t mean much to anyone else, but mean absolutely everything to me.

Life has felt so full lately. Full of work, family, our home, celebrations, busy days, tired evenings, laughter, little adventures and lots of memories being made along the way.

For a long time I’ve felt like Its hard to constantly try to balance everything being a mum, a wife, working, building and being there for everyone I love, and still trying to find a little bit of time to just be me.

And sometimes I’ve definitely felt like I’m not doing any of it quite enough.

But lately I’ve been trying to remind myself that life isn’t about getting the balance perfect. It’s about being present for the moments that matter.

The school runs. The cuddles. The family days out. Sitting around the table together. Watching the kids grow. Date nights with Dan. Quiet evenings at home watching some sh*t . Busy days in the salon doing a job I genuinely love. And all the little ordinary moments in between.

We’ve had so much change over the last few months and somehow, amongst all the chaos, we’ve created a home, made memories and started a new chapter that I still have to pinch myself about.

I’m learning to stop rushing through life waiting for things to slow down… because these are the days.

The messy, busy, exhausting, beautiful days.

And one day I know I’ll look back at these photos and wish I could step right back into them for just a minute. 🤍

So here’s life lately… not perfect, not always balanced, but ours.

And honestly, I wouldn’t change it for the world. 🥹🤍

Obsessed with this colour 😍

Can you believe my client came in and said… “I just want to go brunette.” 🤎

But this is exactly why I love a thorough consultation.

After chatting through what she actually wanted from her hair, we realised a traditional brunette wasn’t quite her.

This Queen Deserves A Square On My Grid 💖

I have one rule… I don’t do hair at home- ever ✂️😂

This is Nana Carter, the true Queen of our family, who will be an incredible 99 years young this December. 🥹✨

A truly special lady, who is one half of who our little boy was named after- Nana And Grandad Carter 💖💙

Moments like this are the ones I’ll cherish forever. Not for any other reason than seeing that little smile on her face and knowing how amazing she felt afterwards. ❤️

Seeing her feel like a million dollars absolutely made my day… and made me smile just as much. 🥰👑

Days like today are exactly why I love my job. 🤍

Transformations aren’t just about changing someone’s hair. They’re about creating something that allows someone to truly express themselves, embrace their individuality and leave the salon feeling the absolute best version of themselves.

Like today.. being able to take someone from leaving school and discovering their own sense of style, to creating a colour that feels completely them, is something I’ll never take for granted.

It’s the little things. The reaction when they see the finished result, that instant confidence and that smile at the end. 🥹

That smile? Worth it all.

This is why I love being a Master Colourist. It’s why I believe in going above and beyond, paying attention to every detail and creating something that isn’t just beautiful, but makes someone feel incredible too.

Moments like this leave me feeling forever grateful for my job and how lucky I am to do what I love. To have a career that brings me so much joy, creativity and the opportunity to make people feel their very best is something I’ll always be thankful for.

I genuinely love what I do, and days like today remind me exactly why.
