We’re so excited to introduce you to Sandra, who will be joining us at Skin And Tonic for a trial week from 7th September 🤍

Sandra brings a whopping 20 years of experience as a qualified Beauty Therapist to the salon, including 5 years running her own salon — so it’s safe to say, she knows her stuff!

For Sandra, a great treatment isn’t just about the end result. She loves making sure her clients can properly switch off, relax and enjoy some much-needed time for themselves while they’re with her.

✨ A little bit about Sandra…

She loves performing facials (so if you fancy an hour of being thoroughly pampered, you know who to book 👀), while nails and intimate waxing are some of the treatments she performs most regularly.

Outside of the salon, Sandra is a mum of one… and there’s another side to her you might not expect!

🎤 She’s also been a professional singer for over 10 years, performing in pubs and clubs — although we can’t promise your facial will come with a live performance. 😂

We’re really looking forward to welcoming Sandra into the Skin And Tonic family and introducing her to all of you.

✨ LOVE BEAUTY… BUT NOT QUITE OLD ENOUGH FOR THE SALON? ✨

Since the schools broke up, we’ve had so many messages asking whether we offer treatments for younger beauty lovers — particularly those aged 11–16. 🤍

While Skin And Tonic is an adults-only salon, we completely understand it.

They see Mum getting her nails done. They see laminated brows, elaborate skincare routines and the latest beauty trends all over TikTok. Of course they want to join in!

But you don’t need adult salon treatments to enjoy beauty — and when you’re young, sometimes the gentler alternative is actually the better one.

So we’ve put together our At-Home Beauty Edit ✨

💅 Fancy fabulous nails?

Skip the gel, BIAB and extensions. Grab some press-ons, ordinary nail polish, gems, stickers and nail-art pens and create your own set!

Young nails can be thinner and more flexible, and repeated gel preparation and removal can cause unnecessary damage. Gel products can also cause acrylate sensitisation if they come into contact with the skin or aren’t cured correctly.

🦶Want a pedi?

Soak, gently smooth, moisturise and finish with your favourite ordinary nail polish. Fluffy socks afterwards are obviously compulsory.

🤎Want fluffy laminated brows?

Try a good brow-fixing gel instead! Brush them into shape, carefully tweeze obvious strays only and add a little pencil where needed.

Brow lamination chemically alters the structure of the brow hair and can potentially cause irritation or leave hairs dry and over-processed. Young, healthy brows really don’t need it to achieve that gorgeous fluffy look.

🫧 Obsessed with skincare?

Keep it simple! Gentle cleanse, hydrate, moisturise and SPF, SPF, SPF! ☀️

Our professional facial products contain powerful active ingredients designed to target specific skin concerns. Young, healthy skin simply doesn’t need strong acids, resurfacing products and complicated active routines.

✨ Beauty should be FUN.

There’ll be plenty of time for professional treatments later. For now, experiment, play with different looks and learn to look after the lovely skin, nails and brows you’ve already got.

And Mums… if six weeks of summer holidays have you feeling like you need the professional facial, massage and pedicure instead…

We’re looking for a qualified Beauty Therapist to join us at Skin And Tonic.

This is a self-employed position — but probably not quite as you know it.

Forget room rent, buying stock, paying for booking systems, laundry, utilities, marketing and all the other costs that come with going it alone.

We take care of it.

✨ Towels, laundry & disposables
✨ Booking system & online bookings
✨ Website & salon marketing
✨ Client refreshments

✨ Training opportunities

You simply provide yourself, your skills and your own card machine.

💰 60/40 split in YOUR favour

No room rent. No stock costs. No salon overheads.

🤍 Genuine flexibility

Our salon is open Tuesday–Saturday and you choose the days and hours that work for you.

We simply ask for:
• One late evening until 7pm
• Three Saturdays per month, 9am–2pm

As you’re self-employed, there’s no set annual leave allowance — take the time you need with notice for existing bookings.

Essential: Gel nails & waxing

Bonus: E-file, intimate waxing, massage, lashes, brows & facials.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone professional, reliable, brilliant with clients and excited to build their own loyal column within our salon.

To help us maintain the peaceful, relaxing atmosphere our clients know and love, we kindly ask that you attend your appointment on your own.

Whilst we completely understand that childcare isn’t always straightforward, unfortunately we aren’t able to accommodate children in the salon during treatments.

This is for a number of reasons:
🤍 The safety of children around salon equipment and treatment areas.
🤍 Insurance restrictions.
🤍 To ensure all clients can enjoy the calm, tranquil experience they have booked.

If you arrive with a child, unfortunately we won’t be able to carry out your appointment and it will be treated as a missed appointment in line with our cancellation policy.

If childcare becomes an issue, please contact us as soon as you can and we’ll always do our best to rearrange your appointment.

We’re so proud to announce that Evie has successfully completed her NVQ Level 2 in Beauty Therapy and is now officially taking bookings for the treatments she’s fully qualified in.

Many of you will already know Evie from seeing her around the salon over the past few months. During that time she’s been working incredibly hard, refining her skills, building her confidence and receiving additional in-salon coaching to ensure every treatment meets the high standards we pride ourselves on at Skin & Tonic.

We’ve been so impressed with her progress, professionalism and dedication, and we couldn’t be prouder of how far she’s come. She’ll also be returning to college next year to complete her Level 3, and we’re excited to continue supporting her on her journey.

To help Evie build her client base and gain even more hands-on experience, her qualified treatments are currently available at introductory prices for a limited time.

Georgina is a Band 7 Nurse Prescriber who continues to work within the NHS, bringing a wealth of clinical knowledge, experience and a genuine passion for helping people feel confident in their own skin.
