Five things that quietly weaken nails 💅

Using them as tools - opening tins, scraping labels, prising off lids. Nails are keratin, not a screwdriver.
Picking off old polish. It takes a fine top layer of the nail with it every single time.
Long soaks in very hot water. Nails absorb water and swell, then shrink as they dry - do that daily and you get bending and splitting. This is the one nobody expects.
Skipping gloves for the washing up. Hot water plus detergent, twice a day, adds up.
Leaving damp socks or trainers on after the gym. Nails prefer clean and dry, especially toes.
None of it is dramatic. That's exactly why it goes unnoticed for months - fingernails only grow about 3mm a month, so today's habit shows up in spring.

My lovely friend Diane chose a gorgeous Mexico shade, teamed with a delicate white flower and a touch of silver glitter for her upcoming holiday 🌸✨

Emma opted for a classic plain white, with a gorgeous feature toe finished with gold glitter leopard print. 🤍🐆✨

💅 A little clarification about the TPO ban in nail products 💅

You may see some scaremongering online suggesting that gel nails are being banned — this is not the case. ❤️

The change relates specifically to TPO (Trimethylbenzoyl Diphenylphosphine Oxide), an ingredient that is being removed from affected gel products.

Manufacturers are no longer putting TPO into new products from today, and existing TPO-containing products will be phased out in line with the new regulations.

So, gel nails themselves are NOT being banned — it is simply a change to the ingredients used in certain products.
