I saw a reel recently recommending home piercing kits from Amazon and it made me want to write this post 😬

I completely understand the temptation - they're cheap, they're readily available and the packaging can make them look incredibly professional.

But piercing isn't something I'd ever recommend attempting at home.

There's so much more to a safe piercing than simply putting a needle through the skin. Sterility, anatomy, placement, jewellery, sizing, technique and aftercare all matter.

And importantly, a sterile needle doesn't make someone a trained piercer.

Your body deserves better than a DIY kit ❤️

If you're thinking about getting a new piercing, please choose someone who is properly trained, works hygienically and can talk you through the process and aftercare.
