Colour correction🖌️
Today I had a lovely client in which I haven’t seen in years due to not working in Suffolk!💗
Our goal is ‘biscuit blonde’ but for our first session I wanted to focus on blending through the harsh banding from previous colour while also keeping the hair natural at the root for a soft grow out.
Really happy with how this turned out for a first appointment next session i’m thinking doing a highlight and a lowlight to really create some dimension and give the hair some brighter ribbons especially around the face.
USED ALL L'Oréal Professionnel Paris 💗
Lightner : 9 Blond Studio + 20vol Oil Developer
Tone : Dia Light 10.21 & 9.01 + 6 vol
Root shadow : Dia Colour 5 + 6 vol
Filming my very first consultation… 🫣
Thankfully it was only my stepsister, so we kept things a little less formal than usual. 🤏🏽😂
One thing I always say is that a beautiful result starts long before the colour is applied. The consultation is where we build a personalised colour plan based on your goals, your natural hair, your maintenance routine, and how your hair behaves.
Abbie came in wanting a soft, expensive-looking honey blonde, but she also mentioned that she doesn’t enjoy the stronger warm or copper tones her natural hair can reveal as it grows out. Rather than removing warmth completely, I explained how refining it creates a much more balanced, luxurious blonde.
To achieve this, I chose Dia Colour 8.33 as the dominant lowlight to maintain that rich honey dimension, then added 7.1 to gently soften and neutralise any excess warmth. The result is a blonde that still feels warm and radiant without becoming overly golden or gingery.
Knowing Abbie prefers a lower-maintenance colour, I opted for softly blended babylight foils instead of a harsh highlight pattern. This creates a beautifully diffused regrowth, allowing the colour to grow out seamlessly between appointments.
For the gloss, I finished with Dia Light 10.82 and a touch of 9.03. I love incorporating a subtle hint of gold into my blondes because it reflects the light beautifully, giving the hair that bright, glossy, ‘expensive blonde’ finish while maintaining softness.
Every formula, placement and toner choice is intentional. Hair colour should be tailored to the person wearing it—not just the inspiration photo they bring in. 🤎
