Ever wondered why your piercing can look healed on the outside but still not be ready for new jewellery? 👀

Let’s break it down!

🩸 1. Blood clotting — your body starts controlling bleeding and protecting the wound.

🔥 2. Inflammation — mild redness, swelling and tenderness can be normal in the early stages.

🌱 3. Tissue repair — your body begins building new tissue around the piercing channel.

✨ 4. Maturation — the tissue gradually strengthens. This can take months, sometimes a year or longer, depending on the piercing.

🤍 HELP YOUR PIERCING HEAL:

✔️ Clean with sterile saline and follow your piercer’s advice.
✔️ Wash your hands before touching it.
✔️ Avoid twisting, pressure, knocks and unnecessary movement.
✔️ Don’t change your jewellery too early.
❌ Avoid alcohol, peroxide and harsh products.
