For years, my life revolved around making my hair look ā€œgood enough.ā€

Fibres
Extensions
Comb over hair style
PRP
Laser helmets
Supplements
Hours spent styling
Avoiding certain hairstyles
Worrying about rain, wind, bright lights and photos
Hair transplant

Not because I was vain.

Because losing your hair chips away at how you see yourself.

I genuinely believed that if I could just fix my hair, I’d finally feel like me again.

Instead, I spent years chasing a version of myself that never seemed to arrive.

Then something changed.

Not overnight.
Not because wigs magically fixed everything.

But I realised I wasn’t the only woman in the world losing her hair and I stopped seeing a wig as giving up.

I started seeing it as giving myself permission to stop fighting every single day.

Now, I wear wigs because I love them. I change colours because it’s fun. I wear styles I’d never have attempted with my own hair. And I go on holiday without worrying about fibres washing away and the sun burning my scalp.

I spend less time thinking about my hair than I have in over 20 years.

And somewhere along the way…

Loss 2 Lace was born.

Not because I wanted to sell wigs and dreamed of owning a wig brand…

But because I desperately needed one like it when I started losing my hair. And helping others makes every difficult year worth it.

If you’re still where I used to be…

I see you.

And if you’re wondering whether wigs (or a hair topper) could be part of your journey, my inbox is always open.

Send this to somebody who spends too much time worrying about their hair. šŸ«¶šŸ»

Some women choose extensions for extra length or fuller hair. Others choose a wig or hair topper for coverage, volume or a style they love.

The reasons won’t be exactly the same, but there’s often something shared: wanting to enjoy our hair and feel good about ourselves.

Yet extensions are so often seen as an everyday beauty choice, while wearing a wig or topper can feel like something we need to explain or justify.

You’re allowed to choose hair that makes you feel good, too. Whether you’re living with hair loss, hair thinning or simply enjoy changing your look, you don’t need anyone else’s approval. šŸ«¶šŸ»

At Loss 2 Lace, I help women find beautiful human hair wigs and toppers, with honest advice, education and support along the way.

As someone who lives with hair loss and wears wigs myself, I understand that choosing new hair can feel exciting, overwhelming and emotional all at once. I’m here to listen, answer your questions and help you find a piece that suits your needs, lifestyle and comfort.

You can shop wigs directly through the website, or book a free consultation in Corby, Northamptonshire or online if you’d like some guidance first. Although I encourage consultations, they aren’t compulsory, and you’re welcome to message or email me with questions if you prefer.

You spend an hour getting your hair to look right. Then you leave the house and wonder whether it still does.

Will the wind move it?
Will the light show more of your scalp?
Can you see the thinning in that photo?

You might look perfectly ā€œfineā€ to someone else. They don’t see the time it took to get there, or how difficult it can be to stop thinking about it.

I know how exhausting that can feel and just how much thinning hair can control your life.

You may still love your own hair - its colour, its length, the way it feels. You might just miss the fullness you used to have, or wish you could style it without having to think so carefully about what’s showing.

A hair topper could be a great option for you.

It adds coverage, volume or both to a particular area, often the parting or crown, while your own hair remains part of the finished look.

Choosing one means considering where you need coverage, the hair you have to attach it to, and how the colour and length will blend. I’m here to help you make sense of those choices and work out what works for you.

My human hair toppers will officially launch on my website in a limited collection of 8 pieces tomorrow at 7pm. More pieces will be added as they arrive.

If you’ve been quietly wondering whether a hair topper could work for you, you’re welcome to ask questions or book a consultation. You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you need. šŸ«¶šŸ»

A little behind the scenes of running my human hair wig business… through my Meta glasses šŸ‘“

No two days at Loss 2 Lace ever look quite the same.

Between online and in-person wig consultations, unpacking and quality checking new human hair wigs, styling new pieces, reorganising the ever-growing wig wall, packing wig orders, website admin and working on all the little details that go into growing a wig business… there’s usually a LOT going on behind the scenes that you’d probably never even think of. šŸ˜…

But these are genuinely some of my favourite parts of running Loss 2 Lace.

I started this business after my own experience of hair loss and wig wearing, because I wanted women experiencing alopecia and hair loss to have somewhere they could learn about wigs, ask ALL the questions, try different colours and styles, and hopefully feel a little less overwhelmed by the whole thing.

And now I get to spend my days surrounded by wigs and wonderful women who trust me with some of their most vulnerable moments. 🄹

Not a bad way to spend your days. šŸ«¶šŸ»

And the last few months have been even busier preparing for my hair topper launch! The initial soft launch of an exclusive collection of 8 pieces is on Sunday 11th October at 7pm, with more pieces to follow as and when they arrive.

You can browse and buy directly through my website, where you’ll find photos of each piece, sizing information and guidance to help you choose. There’s no requirement to have a consultation before buying, and if you have questions, you’re welcome to message or email me.

But if you do prefer some support, I always recommend booking a free consultation online or in person in Corby, Northamptonshire. A chance to talk through your hair, explore your options and work out what feels right for you without pressure to purchase.

Save this post for when you are ready, or contact me today to discuss your options or for information on how to book your consultation. šŸ«¶šŸ»

There are some brilliant wig and hair topper businesses in the UK and even more across the world and I’m never going to stand here and tell you that my wigs and toppers are better than everybody else’s.

I’m not going to pay an influencer to tell you that either.

Are my human hair pieces perfect?

No - because the perfect wig and topper doesn’t exist.

Could one of them be perfect for you?

Maybe. But equally, maybe not.

The right wig or topper depends on your priorities, preferences, lifestyle and what compromises you are or aren’t willing to make.

Take bleached knots, for example. I know my opinion isn’t always popular, but it hasn’t changed.

I’ve handled and worn a lot of human hair wigs and toppers over the past two years, including many I bought for myself before Loss 2 Lace existed. I am yet to see bleached knots in person that look quite as flawless as they often appear online.

Up close, I can usually see the tell-tale signs and personally, they aren’t worth the impact on longevity.

But lots of wig and topper wearers love them, and I completely respect that. We don’t all want the same thing from a wig or topper and we shouldn’t have to.

I’m never going to pressure you into buying from me.

I’ll keep sharing what I’ve learned, what I genuinely think and the things I wish I knew at the beginning of my wig journey.

If that helps you choose one of my pieces, I’ll be here.

And if it helps you realise that one of my wigs or toppers aren’t right for you, I’ll still be glad I shared it.

If you do feel stuck and would like some honest, no-pressure help, you can contact me to book an online or in-person consultation. Or you can shop directly from my website.

Sometimes, even sending that first message is enough to help you take the next step. šŸ«¶šŸ»

See you when I’m back šŸ˜˜šŸ‘‹šŸ»

For lace top wigs, if you have your own hair underneath and want that natural part line - it’s important to line up your own natural parting with the parting of the wig to show your actual scalp through the lace.

Otherwise, through the lace, you’ll see your own hair underneath instead of scalp… which can be especially noticeable if you have darker hair like me.

And if you’re wearing a wig grip with a lace parting section, it’s equally important to line that lace section up with the wig’s parting too, otherwise you may see the velvet showing through the part line.

As shown in the video, I often need to adjust my own natural parting slightly underneath the wig grip to get everything lined up properly.

Of course there are other options such as silk liners or using scar tape on the inside of the cap along the part line. However, lining up my part line is my personal favourite and looks and feels the most natural to me.
