5 habits that have kept my skin happy over summer ☀️

(As a type B stress head, mum of two & business owner who’s trying to renovate a house, study and level up all in a day 😂)

I’ve slowed down on the caffeine, which seemed daunting at first, but once I actually made the change, I found I was surprisingly okay with it. I realised that when I woke up feeling thirsty, instead of drinking water to rehydrate, I was chugging on a cup of coffee. I’d then top up with more caffeine mid-afternoon, which left me feeling increasingly wired, not to mention a terrible nights sleep.

The knock on effect was elevated blood sugars, poor food choices and the forgetting to drink enough water, and boy, I could tell in my skin. Puffy, dry and inflamed.

Consistent cleansing routine with a cleanser that respects my skins barrier. Overall my skin has the ability to hold onto its own hydration. Job done.

I’ve switched up vitamin A / Retinol (scary as I’m a creature of habit) Low and slow but consistently. No frazzling the barrier in the process. I’ve been very nervous about the “purge” but after 10 consistent weeks, nothing! (Did I tell you I’ve got a new brand in clinic? 😍)

I made a date in my diary. I’ve been very organised this year and have made sure I’m keeping up with SkinPen Microneedling UKI & International. I’ve made a note in the diary and have done this roughly every 8 - 10 weeks (this works for me, but might be different for you) the results really do pay off.

I’ve worn less makeup, in fact I’ve had days where I’ve worn nothing. I would rather invest in my skincare routine first (as much as I want to try the Victoria Beckham foundation 😂) but overall I need less makeup, which is great, especially on a busy morning.

Has your skin been winning over summer?

Over 50 GOOGLE REVIEWS!!!!

A huge thank you to the guys and gals who took the time to share your experience!! I read every one of them over and over, especially on the days when I need it most.

Some clinics would feel this simply isn’t enough. Only 50 reviews in 6 years, what’s the fuss about?!

Here’s why.

I deal with A LOT of skin conditions which require a lot of work and TIME, which means I’m not asking for a review after your first appointment or even fifth.

Skin prep, home care, creating healthy foundations with the Byonik and other treatments, numerous sessions of corrective treatments such as SkinPen to help with conditions like pigmentation, scar revision and more.

It takes time. Results are definitely not linear, there’s a lot of emotion tied into these journeys, and clients are desperately wanting a resolution.

With new clinics popping up everywhere, the choice is vast, and having a small business right now is incredibly volatile, which is so scary. My business supports my family, not a boujee lifestyle (if only!).

No quick fixes.
No instant gratification.

So, a huge thank you! These positive experiences are so greatly appreciated. I just want to keep on helping others for as long as I can.

Thank you always 🙏🙏🙏

Story time

A couple of weeks ago, I attended an appointment already feeling quite nervous as I sat in the chair.

Within 10 swift minutes, I was told that if I didn’t follow through with a treatment plan, the future was going to be bleak and I needed to act now.

The medical professional pointed out everything that was wrong, and honestly, I felt like I was being sold to.

As I left that cold, clinical setting, I felt quite upset and, to be honest, utterly crap about myself.

So, I decided to get a second opinion.

Luckily, I came out of that appointment feeling much more positive, equipped with a clear plan and, most importantly, feeling listened to.

The treatment in question?

A dental examination!!!

But this experience really got me thinking…

How many times do clients come to me feeling nervous, worried or anxious? Feeling almost embarrassed or scared to discuss what they do — or don’t do — when it comes to their skin?

Social media can be brilliant, but it can also create a sense of shame if you’re not doing THIS or THAT when it comes to skin health.

And that’s exactly why I create a calm environment.

It’s intentional. NOT FLUFFY 🤣

No shame or hard selling and definitely no making you feel inadequate.

I won’t sugar-coat things, but I will listen. I’ll be kind, honest and always treat you with respect.

So, do me a favour…

Clients, past, present and future:
if you’ve got any niggling questions about your skin but you’re worried about making that first move, please reach out.

My inbox is always open, and I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts and questions — whether that’s in the comments or privately in the DMs. At a later date (anonymously, of course), if you’re happy for me to, I will be sharing a Q&A, because your question might be exactly what someone else is too nervous to ask.

I’ve now found a new dentist. 😂

Real women. Real results. Real Talk.

We get so caught up in what we can see superficially on the skins surface, but a little like our health, changes are happening within, subtle changes.

Our connective tissues do an impeccable job at keeping everything held together, quite literally. But over time the hard working, robust scaffolding starts to weaken.

A natural way to tighten and reinforce the foundations is microneedling, and not just any, medical microneedling.

If you are noticing slight changes, let’s talk in clinic and put together a targeted treatment plan like we did with Anna 💙

The other day I caught myself wondering how I could make my business a little leaner and save some money.

One thought crossed my mind…

“Do I really need an accountant anymore?”

After six years in business, surely I know how to do my own tax return by now???

The truth. I probably could. But then I thought about what would actually happen…

➡️ I would spend hours trying to figure everything out
second-guess every decision
➡️Make a few mistakes, and end up stressed
➡️Feel overwhelmed (and get in trouble with HMRC)

By the time I’d fixed those mistakes, any money I’d “saved” would likely be gone.

And that’s when it clicked…

It’s exactly the same with skin. We’ve never had more skincare advice at our fingertips. AI, TikTok, influencers, podcasts, YouTube… everyone seems to have an opinion, and it’s easy to believe you can create the perfect routine yourself.

Can you? Of course. BUT you might also:

✨ Spend hundreds on products your skin doesn’t actually need.
✨ Damage your skin barrier by following conflicting advice.
✨ Feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information.
✨ End up spending even more trying to undo the damage.

How do I know?

Because it’s exactly what I’m seeing in clinic RIGHT NOW!!!

I’ve never had so many skin consultations where the biggest issue isn’t someone’s skin—it’s the confusion. People have tried everything they’ve seen online, but they’re still not getting the results they want.

The internet is brilliant for information, but information isn’t the same as personalised advice.

Sometimes you need someone to look at your skin, understand your goals, your lifestyle, your health and your history, and create a plan that’s designed specifically for you.

That’s where a professional makes all the difference.
So, for now at least… I think the robots can leave my job alone. 😉

(If your my accountant, I’m not getting rid of you either 😂)

“Don’t talk to clients, they’re not here to hear what you have to say, they’re here to have a treatment”

My introduction on the first day before a back to back day of working in spa. A sentence I won’t ever forget!

Now, clients come to me, my business to gain advice and guidance under my watch. Therapist message me daily for support and advice on their next steps in education, training and their actual careers.

I wish I could tell my 20 year old self this.

(Did anyone notice my pups cameo in the background 😂 a prize for the first person!)

The award winning Fire and Ice Facial

This popular, results-driven treatment is designed to quickly refresh and rejuvenate your skin. Often referred to as the “Red Carpet” or “Hollywood” facial, it deeply exfoliates the skin to reveal a smoother, brighter, and more radiant complexion. Best of all, there’s no downtime, peeling, or downtime, making it the perfect choice before a special event or whenever you want an instant glow.

It’s a firm favourite of ours 😍😍😍

POV: You come back from holiday convinced you’re acne has been cured... ☀️🍹MAGIC?!

*”My skin has never looked this good!”*

And honestly? I love that little moment of relief, as I’ve also been there too.

Then I have to be the one to say... it might not actually be the sun working its magic. 🙈

A “tan” can temporarily make redness less noticeable, and a bit of sunshine can dry the sebum and ultimately breakouts for a while... but it’s usually a holiday effect, not a permanent fix. The results? Slower healing from the UV damage and unwanted pigment and inflammation.

My job isn’t to make anyone feel bad about their skin—quite the opposite. I’ve been there, and I know how much your confidence can be tied to what’s looking back at you in the mirror. It’s not vanity, it’s deeper than that.

So for now? Enjoy the sunshine. Enjoy the cocktail. Enjoy making memories. 🍹☀️

TIPS

Wide brimmed hat and re-apply your SPF every 2 hours, it’s a non negotiable.

I’m here to help on the other side ✌️
