✨ PROGRESS UPDATE: RUSSIAN VOLUME LASHES ✨

If you’d asked me a year ago if I’d be here, mastering this skill while juggling everything life throws at me… I honestly might have doubted it. 💫

Right now I’m a mummy to my amazing 8 year old girl, working full time in a management role, running my small beauty business, and somehow fitting in all the other jobs, commitments and family care that keeps life moving! There were so many nights I was tired, so many times I thought “is this even possible?”… but I kept showing up, even if it was just for 20 minutes at a time.

And today? I’m so proud to say I’ve hit such a lovely milestone with my Russian lashes that I’d never thought be possible🥹

To all the younger girls out there watching, dreaming of something or working towards your own goals:
Life will get busy. Things will get in the way. You’ll feel like you’re running out of time or energy more often than not. But please don’t ever give up on what matters to you. You don’t have to do it all perfectly, or as fast as anyone else – you just have to keep going, one small step at a time. 💖

Every late night, every squeezed-in practice, every time you choose to keep going even when it’s hard… it all adds up.

I’m no where near where I want to be but I’m no where near where I started and that’s a goal for me ✨

✨ A Little Client Education ✨

I wanted to share this as it’s something that many people don’t realise.

Recently, I had a client who came in for an eyebrow wax and tint alongside a lash lift. Before her appointment, she fully disclosed that she is prescribed tretinoin and explained that her skin is always very sensitive to waxing and has lifted in the past. We discussed the risks together, and she was happy to go ahead with the treatment, understanding that skin lifting was still a possibility.

To help protect her skin, I also applied Second Skin by Saint & Serenity, which is designed to help reduce friction and protect the skin during waxing. While this can be a great preventative product, it unfortunately can’t completely eliminate the risk for everyone.

Skin lifting after waxing can be completely normal for some clients, particularly those using prescription skincare such as tretinoin or other active ingredients that increase skin sensitivity. For others, it may be an indication that certain skincare products or medications are affecting the skin’s barrier.

This is why it’s so important to always tell your beauty therapist about:
🤍 Prescription skincare (such as tretinoin)
🤍 Retinol or retinal products
🤍 Acne treatments
🤍 Recent chemical peels or skin treatments
🤍 Any medications or changes to your skincare routine

Being open about what you’re using allows us to assess whether it’s safe to wax or whether another treatment option would be more suitable. Your safety and the health of your skin will always come first.
