None of these is better than the other they just suit different people
Most people leave school only knowing about one route into Hair & Beauty, and that's college. Nobody sits them down and explains that there are actually three genuine pathways in college, apprenticeships and private training, and each one suits a different kind of learner.
Some people thrive in a big classroom. Others need smaller groups, more hands-on practice and someone who actually gets to know them.Neither is wrong. The only mistake is not knowing your options exist before you choose.

The 7 questions to ask before you pick your hair & beauty course.
Most people only find out the answers after they've signed up and this is not about catching anyone out, it's just about you as the student knowing what you're actually walking into.
Is it one-to-one? Do you move at your own pace? Is the qualification VTCT Ofqual regulated? How much hands-on training will you actually get? Will you be supported if you need more time? Is your teacher still working in the industry? And can you picture yourself feeling comfortable there for the duration of your training.

Unpopular opinion: a strict timetable doesn't make you skilled. Reps, time, and someone who actually pays attention to you does.

Nobody shows school leavers or mums what one-to-one hair and beauty training actually looks like so before any of you commit to a traditional college route here it is, side by side.
Same VTCT Ofqual regulated qualification but a completely different way of getting there.
If you're a school leaver weighing up hairdressing courses, beauty therapy training or aesthetics courses, save this before your next open day and share with you parents.
Nobody sits you down and tells you there's another option. You just get handed a list of colleges and told to pick one.
But college isn't the only way to get qualified in hair, beauty or aesthetics after your GCSEs it's just the most talked about one.
