When I set out to rebrand Makara, I knew I couldn’t build something rooted in my Sri Lankan heritage while using a generic, western wellness aesthetic. This needed to look and feel like Sri Lanka. The island, the textures, the people.
The colours, the dots, the leaves are all little nods to temples I’ve waked through, homes I’ve visited and ancient art I’ve admired.
The little pop of red is my blood. It’s part of me and I want to share it with you all ♥️
