National Meadows Day Open Day at the Seilich Wildflower Meadow
Join us on Saturday 4th July from 10am–3pm as we celebrate National Meadows Day and welcome visitors to the Seilich Wildflower Meadow at its midsummer best.
This is a wonderful opportunity to wander amongst the flowers, experience the sights and sounds of a thriving wildflower meadow, and enjoy a day dedicated to nature, biodiversity and wellbeing. Whether you’d like to spend the day exploring, learning something new, or simply relaxing amongst the blooms, we’d love to welcome you.
We’ll be joined by Bramblewood Farm and Jump Ship Brewing, who will be serving up a delicious BBQ and alcohol-free beer in the meadow. Seilich Herbal Tea will be available throughout the day, alongside a selection of homemade cakes inspired by the meadow and hedgerow by forager and wild chef .macchiato.
The Open Day is completely free to attend, and everyone is welcome.
For those looking to get involved, Sacred Space will be offering ‘Yoga in the Meadow’ sessions and bringing along their sauna for a truly restorative experience. You can book directly through The Sacred Space for these!
We will also be running guided sessions on ‘How to Create a Wildflower Meadow’ and ‘Wildflower Identification’ for anyone interested in learning more about these special habitats. You can book our workshops via the link in our bio. Please note that yoga, sauna and our workshop sessions require advance booking.
Or simply bring a picnic rug, settle amongst the flowers, enjoy a cup of tea and soak up the beauty of the meadow at the height of summer.
We look forward to sharing this special day with you.

Happy , the meadow is looking spectacular at the moment.
Things that have made us smile recently in the meadow…
Do you know the lore behind ….
Remember you can come visit the meadow in person and see it in all its glory at our Meaodw Open Day 4th July 10-3pm.
Did you know the helpful role ladybirds play in the meadow?
In the meadow ladybirds play an important natural role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem. As natural predators of aphids and other plant pests, they help protect wildflowers and grasses without the need for chemical pesticides. This supports a circular wildlife model, where each species contributes to the balance of the meadow. By encouraging beneficial insects such as ladybirds, Seilich Meadow promotes biodiversity, natural pest control, and a thriving habitat for wildlife.

Mulching the young lemon balm plants with compost made from the meadow itself.
Meadow cuttings, herb-bed weeds, workshop plant waste, and leaf mulch from the meadow margins are transformed in our hot composter and returned to the soil that nourishes our herbs.
Nothing wasted, everything returned.
This is cycle of reciprocity in action: if we take, we must also give back.
