Products I would buy on the high street.

Effective skincare doesn’t have to cost a fortune but it’s good to know what your buying is actually worthwhile..

Skin boosters, polynucleotides & biostimulators — similar goal, very different mechanisms. 🧬

From improving hydration and skin quality, to supporting tissue regeneration and stimulating collagen production, each treatment has a different role.

In this Reel, I break down the key differences and who each option may be suited to.

Sculptra explained 🧬✨

First… please excuse how I look🤣 the info is much better than how I look!

But let’s get into the actual science 👇🏻

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible, biodegradable material that acts as a collagen biostimulator.

Unlike traditional dermal fillers, the primary purpose isn’t to provide immediate volume. Instead, PLLA stimulates a gradual tissue response, encouraging new collagen production over time.

🧬 What happens after treatment?

The PLLA particles stimulate fibroblast activity within the treated tissue. Over time, this promotes collagen deposition and gradual improvement in the structural support and quality of the skin.

This means results are progressive rather than immediate.

✨ What can this translate to clinically?

• Improved skin thickness and quality
• Increased firmness and elasticity
• Gradual restoration of structural support
• Softening of the appearance of some age-related changes
• A more natural, gradual improvement rather than an immediate change in volume

Sculptra ≠ filler

They work differently and have different treatment objectives. Sculptra is also not suitable for everyone, which is why a thorough consultation and appropriate patient selection are essential. 28/09/2026
