CLIENT NOTICE 🤘

After a particularly tough couple of years, we are so happy to be back open again. However, it wouldn't entirely be true if we said things were "back to how they were"

Last year our team struggled with the most amount of illness we've ever experienced.

I'm not sure if it's because our immune systems took a hit while we were apart, or if there was just a whole bunch of bugs going around in 2022, but the start of this year has seen the same impact.

Unfortunately we've had to close one of our shops 3 times this year due to none of our team being well enough to come in, and we're only in January.

For that reason, we're asking you to please reschedule your appointment if you're not well. If you show up unwell we will likely need to ask you to wear a mask, or turn you away.

I am sure you understand that as a client facing industry, we need to keep ourselves well.

I'm also wondering - any other biz owners, are you experiencing the same thing? How are you coping?

Team Stag have had a few days off over Christmas to spend time with family, friends, partners and to recoup a little.
We're back at it tomorrow and we're open from the 28th until 1pm on the 31st.

We're very lucky that hairdressing is such a dynamic, creative industry.

From now on, all colour services at Stag will be charged purely on time.

You'll receive one of these extremely cute quote cards (designed by .illo) on your consultation. It contains all the details of how long you're going to spend in the chair, what's going to happen, and the price.

You're quoted ahead of your colour service, so you can ensure the duration and budget are the right fit.

If not - there's no obligation to proceed with the colour!

Our new colour pricing starts tomorrow, if you've already got a colour appt booked in, it'll be at the old prices. But going forward this is how we're doing things.

We are so happy to introduce you to our newest member of the team...

Lo has been in the hairdressing game a long time - long enough that she actually helped train boss man Muz up at Charlie Miller 😎 So if you think Muz is good wait til you experience the master ⚡️

Lo originally chose to pursue hairdressing as an alternative to art school. She thought it would be really creative, and she wasn’t wrong! A true creative spirit, Lo has taken art classes at Leith School of Art and it was her creative passion that made hiring her an absolute no brainer. “ I just have so many ideas bursting to get out!” she told us at her interview.

Lo’s favourite thing about hairdressing is helping people refine or find their style and watching them leave with a smile on their face.

She says she was attracted to Stag because of its inclusivity. Lo loves getting to cut people’s hair from all walks of life.

Lo had been with her previous employer for almost all of her career so far and decided she would only leave for her absolute number one pick - and that was Stag. We’re so completely honoured and glad she jumped on board.

We’re overjoyed to announce that Team Stag won Best Salon Team at the Most Wanted Awards last night.

This award is so special to us because it recognises the incredible force that is Team Stag. I am so incredibly proud of the way every member of our team shows up big for each other, in every way.

Whether it’s mentoring in training, the beautiful friendships we’ve seen blossom on the shop floor, the way they stay back to help each other clean, checking in with each other’s mental health, supporting each other through lockdown, sharing clients, stepping in to help blow dry when someone’s running late on their column...there’s so many ways our team really do prove that together we are more powerful than we could ever be as individuals.

I’m just so proud.

It was really incredible to be able to bring them all to London for this, and to properly celebrate our wins from both this and last year with the best of the hairdressing industry.

Thankyou so much to for putting on this amazing night. It felt so good to be celebrating with our industry again and to be inspired by the creativity and talent that we saw on display last night amongst all the other finalists.

I also wanted to express how incredible it was so see so much talent from Scotland. We loved seeing
, .purves represent and a huge congrats to the inspirational

Finally, a massive congrats to Glasgow’s who took home this years Best Local Salon award - there’s no one we’d rather hand the trophy on to. and have done incredible things in a short time and we look forward to watching them continue to rise.

✈️ 🏆 TIPS FOR TRIPS 🏆✈️
After a mammoth effort we are so proud that Stag has been nominated for 'Best Salon Team' and 'Best Local Salon' at this year's Creative Head Awards.

These are the MAJOR national awards for our industry and we're so proud to be representing Stag and Edinburgh against some incredible salons from across the whole UK.

Because teamwork makes the dreamwork; and because we're well overdue a night out, we're OF COURSE taking the whole team down to London for the awards ceremony in September. There's not much hierarchy on this shop floor, these nominations are for Stag and Stag is each and every one of us.

But obvs, taking a team of 12 to the big smoke is akin to herding cats, and bloody spenny! So we've agreed as a team that for the month of August we're going to put all our tips towards our travel costs.

It's been a pretty wild time for everyone over the last year and a bit. But if any member of Team Stag has made your day, been there to lend an ear, helped you shine your light, meant a lot to you, or you just want to appreciate and congratulate, you can make a wee tip at the end of your appointment.

And that’s a wrap!
This afternoon I pulled my last shot at .espresso before Cathryn and Bea from turn it into the very exciting 🥳🥳

To celebrate their first day in the hood, tomorrow we are giving out a FREE HAIRCUT VOUCHER to every tenth person who gets a coffee. If you wanna get 10 coffees to try win then honestly go for it.

And a big thankyou from me to everyone who came and saw me through the hatch. I personally feel like you can tell how much this wee window has helped me grow just by looking at these two photos, taken shortly after I first opened versus this afternoon.

I come out the other side of this more confident, more sure of who I am and more empowered. And more colourful. (These are pjs by the way by the incredible for everyone who asked)

One of the best things about opening this window was that I got to work alongside the Stag team who are actually some of the best people I know.

Their talent and kindness inspires me endlessly, and I’m so glad I got to spend a year experiencing it first hand. I am so proud of the positive contribution they make to the world every single day, and more certain than ever if the impact we will make working together.
