If there are a few things you’d like to work on before the end of the year, please don’t leave them all until December & hope for the best 😂

I genuinely don’t have many appointments left for 2026 now, which is slightly mad to be saying in September.

One thing we can look at, to make the most of every appointment, is treatment stacking.

This is essentially planning complementary treatments in the right order, with the right amount of time between them, rather than treating one concern in isolation or trying to squeeze everything in at the last minute.

That might mean looking at skin quality alongside structure, combining different approaches where appropriate, or simply mapping out a few appointments so each treatment has time to do its job.

So if you’ve been thinking “I’d quite like to get X, Y and Z sorted before Christmas…” now is probably the time to come and talk to me, because apparently 2026 has decided to absolutely fly by & my diary is chokka 😭

“How many Profhilo treatments do I actually need?”

Usually, we start with two treatments around four weeks apart ✌️

That initial two-treatment course is designed to give the product time to work progressively on hydration, skin quality and tissue support rather than expecting everything from one appointment.

After that, maintenance really depends on your skin, your age, your goals and how you respond to treatment. Some people may benefit from a top-up months later, while others can leave it longer.

And this is the bit I always say… 💬

Don’t book Profhilo because someone on Instagram had two syringes and looked amazing. Book it because it’s actually right for your skin.

I’ll always assess you properly first, talk through what you want to improve and be realistic about whether Profhilo is the best option or whether something else would suit you better 💛✨

Losing a significant amount of weight was one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. But I’d be lying if I said every change that came with it was easy to navigate.

Especially with the rise of GLP-1 medications, we’re talking about significant weight loss more than ever and one thing I think deserves more honest conversation is what can happen to the face afterwards.

This isn’t something caused uniquely by GLP-1s. Substantial weight loss itself can mean losing facial fat and support too, which may leave the cheeks or temples looking more hollow, the jawline feeling softer and lines or skin laxity appearing more noticeable.

& I know that feeling first-hand!

You can feel incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved and healthier or more confident in your body, while still looking in the mirror and feeling a little unsure about changes you weren’t expecting.

And that doesn’t make you vain or ungrateful for your weight loss. It simply means your face has changed too.

The good news is that there are options. Depending on the individual, we might look at carefully placed dermal filler to restore lost support, skin boosters or regenerative treatments to improve skin quality, or a combination of approaches over time.

But I’m particularly mindful with post-weight-loss faces because the answer is not automatically “add lots of volume back”.

We need to assess what has actually changed, decide what would genuinely improve things and keep the result balanced and natural.

Having been through substantial weight loss myself, I understand the bigger picture, the achievement, the adjustment and sometimes the slightly complicated relationship you develop with the person looking back at you afterwards.

If that sounds familiar, come and see me.

We’ll look at where you are now, what’s bothering you and create a plan that helps you feel like you again without undoing everything you’ve worked so hard to achieve 💛

My patients will all know that rave is much more my thing - but some women transcend genres.

Dolly Parton was absolutely one of them 💛

Following the incredibly sad news of her passing, I kept coming back to this quote.

Dolly spent decades showing women that getting older didn’t mean becoming quieter, smaller or less visible.

She was glamorous because she wanted to be. Funny. Successful. Outspoken. Kind. Completely recognisable as herself and seemingly never particularly interested in whether everyone approved.

And I think there’s something in that for women of EVERY age.

There is no point at which you become “too old” to wear what you want, change your hair, dance until stupid o’clock, try something new, take up space, have that aesthetic treatment or simply decide you quite like being exactly who you are.

Whatever age you are, you’re not over! I spend my career empowering women, and people in general, exactly how Dolly did!

Here’s to growing older without disappearing and doing it unapologetically on your own terms ✨

Rest in peace, Dolly. What a woman.

Plot twist . . .

I haven’t had anything done between these two photos at all 😂

Same face. Same day. Taken moments apart!

But change the lighting, move the camera slightly, alter the angle of my face, and even where my tongue is positioned, and suddenly you could quite easily convince someone they were looking at a treatment result.

And that’s exactly why I’m always banging on about realistic, ethical before and after photography - and don’t base my whole social media on showing them!

Before and afters can be really useful when you’re considering an aesthetic treatment, but only when they give you a fair comparison. Different lighting, angles, expressions and positioning can completely change how somebody’s features appear.

So when you’re researching practitioners online, look beyond the dramatic transformations. Look at whether their photography is consistent, whether the results seem realistic and whether they’re prepared to talk openly about what a treatment can and cannot achieve.

Because sometimes the most impressive-looking before and after…

…isn’t a before and after at all 😉✨💛

For me, no two appointments should feel like a conveyor belt.

Before I recommend or carry out any treatment, I want to understand what’s bothering you, what you’d like to improve and what’s actually appropriate for your skin.

In this case, cryotherapy was used to treat unwanted milia and skin lesions, with the patient kept comfortable throughout and given clear aftercare advice to support the healing process afterwards.

Because for me, the experience doesn’t end when the treatment does. Consultation. Treatment. Aftercare. Every part really matters!

And receiving Save Face UK feedback that somebody felt listened to, comfortable and well looked after throughout the whole process is exactly what I want from every appointment.

Thank you, as always, for trusting me with your skin! It’s the best gig in the world! ✨💛

Ahhh if only it was that easy 😂😂

You probably won’t see many posts like this from me. And there’s a reason.

As magic as I’d love to be, the truth is, I don’t know what your skin needs until I’ve assessed your skin.

I could tell every adult on social media to drink more water, get eight hours of sleep and wear SPF…but you already know that 😂

What I can’t tell you from the other side of a screen is why your skin is behaving the way it is, which products are appropriate for you, or which treatments are actually worth your money.

Two people can come to me with what looks like the same concern and leave with completely different treatment plans.

That’s why I’d always rather get you into clinic, properly assess your skin, talk about what’s bothering you and build a plan around you.

Your skin isn’t generic, so my advice won’t be either 💛✨

My September diary is already almost completely full, and November appointments are starting to fill up too which still feels slightly mad to say when we’re technically in summer!

I’m genuinely so grateful to every single person who continues to choose me, recommend me and trust me with their treatments. Keeping my clinic this busy is something I’ll never take for granted 💛💛

But it does mean I’m giving you the slightly boring organised-person reminder…

If you know you’ve got something coming up, please book ahead.

Whether it’s an event, birthday, holiday, Christmas party or you simply know roughly when you’ll be due your next appointment, getting something in the diary early means we can plan your treatment properly rather than trying to squeeze everything in at the last minute.

And yes, apparently I’m discussing Christmas appointments in August 🎄 👀

I don’t make the rules. My diary does 😂

Thank you, as always, for keeping me so wonderfully busy. 🫶

I’m obviously not anti-skincare. But I am anti-children being sold adult skincare & encouraged to worry about adult skin concerns 😶

Thanks to TikTok, influencers and the appeal of beautifully packaged products, we’re seeing children become interested in increasingly complicated skincare routines, including products containing active ingredients designed to target concerns they simply don’t have yet.

Retinoids, exfoliating acids and anti-ageing products aren’t automatically better because they’re expensive, trending or sitting on an influencer’s bathroom shelf. For young skin, unnecessary use of active ingredients can lead to irritation and damage to the skin barrier.

And there’s a wider conversation here too 👀

Why are children being encouraged to worry about ageing in the first place?

A child wanting to wash their face, moisturise and wear SPF? Brilliant. Building healthy habits early is something I’ll ALWAYS support!

A child believing they need a multi-step routine to prevent wrinkles before they’ve even finished school? That’s something we need to actively question.

For most younger skin, simple really is better: gentle cleansing, moisturising where needed and appropriate sun protection.

Teenagers experiencing acne or another genuine skin concern may need something more targeted, but that’s where proper advice & a medical consultation becomes important rather than adding more and more trending products and hoping for the best.

So if skincare is suddenly part of this year’s back-to-school haul, take an interest in what’s going into the basket. Let’s teach younger generations to look after their skin not to be frightened of it getting old 💛✨

A day out of clinic, but still very much a day of work 📚

I headed to Leeds for another day of training and professional development, this time focusing on 1NEED Pro, an advanced microneedling device that will be joining the clinic.

For me, investing in new technology has to go hand-in-hand with investing in the knowledge and training to use it properly.

The training was also a great opportunity to look at how I can incorporate the device into my existing treatment protocols, including the professional skincare and peel protocols I already use as a PCA Skin Ambassador.

A big thank you to Church Pharmacy for organising the event, and to Lizzie Shaw and Dr Annoob for delivering such an informative day.

I’ve always believed that being good at what you do means never assuming you’ve finished learning. Treatments evolve, technology develops and there is always more knowledge to gain.

So yes, another training day. Another investment in the clinic. And ultimately, another way of making sure my patients continue to receive the very best I can offer 💛
