What looks like waste can become a starting point for creativity, connection and possibility.
Through art, we created a space where 23 empty baby food tins could become something more.
People painted, experimented, shared ideas and created something uniquely their own, then took their tins home to reuse, store something meaningful in, or simply keep as a reminder of what they had made.
But the real value of creative spaces in communities is not always what is left on the table.
It is the opportunity to pause, explore, express yourself and try something without the pressure of getting it “right”. It is the sense of belonging that can emerge when people make something alongside one another.
Here, sustainability became part of the process, creativity became a way to connect, and an everyday discarded object became something worth keeping.
Art can be the starting point. What happens around it can become something much bigger.
That is what creative wellbeing can make possible: turning simple acts of making into moments of expression, connection and meaning.

Not every client becomes part of your story.
Some become part of your journey. ❤️
This was Leandra’s seventh Henna Hub design.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of creating designs to celebrate birthdays, festivals, special moments… and now, one of the biggest milestones of all! her graduation. 🎓
Watching someone return again and again is something I’ll never take for granted.
Because every returning appointment represents so much more than a design.
It represents trust.
Conversations that grow deeper over time.
Thank you, Leandra, for letting Henna Hub UK be part of so many meaningful milestones. Congratulations again on your graduation! ❤️🎓
💕 Lovely Ruthie came in with an exciting freestyle idea and left absolutely delighted with her custom Jagua design. ✨
Jagua is a natural, plant-based alternative to natural henna that develops into a deep blue-black stain, giving the look of a real tattoo. Best of all, it lasts for around 2 weeks before naturally fading.
And almost forgot to mention… Ruthie is one of our lovely returning clients!🥹 It’s always such a pleasure creating for you
Would you try Jagua? Let me know in the comments! 💙

Sometimes, creating a design means listening to the story behind it.
During this appointment, we found ourselves talking about the animals who leave footprints on our lives long after they’re gone.
It reminded me of losing our family dog years ago. Anyone who’s loved an animal knows they aren’t “just pets.” They’re family.
Every person who sits in my chair brings a different story.
That’s one of the things I love most about this work.

Big dreams often begin with simple ideas. 🌿
Henna Hub was founded with a simple belief:
that people deserve to make informed choices about what goes onto their skin.
Through natural henna and jagua, we’re showing that plant-based body art can be a space for creativity, wellbeing, cultural appreciation and thoughtful self-expression.
Whether someone is exploring a tattoo idea, celebrating a milestone or simply enjoying the experience, every design begins with understanding, not compromise.
We’ll keep building that vision…
One person.
One conversation.
One design at a time.

Earlier this year, Henna Hub UK facilitated a creative wellbeing experience as part of a staff wellbeing event at Glasgow Kelvin College.
Throughout the day, staff members took time out of their busy schedules to sit down, learn about natural henna and jagua, and enjoy a creative experience designed to encourage relaxation, conversation and self-expression.
What stood out most was not the designs themselves, but the opportunity to create moments of connection.
A simple activity became a space for people to pause, engage with something new, share stories and take a moment for themselves.
This is one of the reasons I believe culturally rooted art has an important place in wellbeing, education and community settings. It can help bring people together, spark conversations and create experiences that people genuinely remember.
Thank you to for creating space for staff wellbeing and for inviting Henna Hub UK to contribute to the day.
