🥴 Retinol Vs Retinal Vs Tretinoin. Which one to choose 🥴

All three are vitamin A derivatives (retinoids) that boost cell turnover and collagen production, but they differ in potency and how many conversion steps they require to become active in your skin.

The Breakdown:

💠 Retinol
The mildest, most accessible over-the-counter option. It requires two conversion steps in the skin (Retinol → Retinal → Retinoic Acid). This makes it slower-acting but very gentle, making it perfect for beginners or sensitive skin.

💠 Retinal - (Retinaldehyde): A stronger over the counter option that only requires one conversion step (Retinal → Retinoic Acid). It is highly effective, yet studies and dermatologist consensus show it is often better tolerated than retinol, making it the “sweet spot” for many users.

💠 Tretinoin - The strongest, prescription-only retinoid (pure retinoic acid). Because it requires zero conversion, it delivers rapid, dramatic results but carries the highest potential for irritation, peeling, and dryness.

❓How to Choose❓

For beginners Start with Retinol to build tolerance and minimize irritation.

Regular users: Use Retinaldehyde Serums if you want faster results without visiting a doctor.

For problem skins, acne, severe wrinkling or sun damage Consult a skin specialist or dermatologist for a Tretinoin Prescription.
