I’ve had so many conversations with women lately who are being incredibly hard on themselves.

They’re looking in the mirror and noticing every line and wrinkle.

Their arms don’t feel as firm as they used to.

Their face has changed.

They feel tired. Lethargic. Like they’ve lost their spark.

And yet… they’re still doing everything.

Running a home. Raising children. Working full-time. Caring for everyone else. Showing up for partners, parents, friends and colleagues.

And somehow, on top of all of that, they feel they should still look like the woman they were 10, 15 or 20 years ago.

Why are we asking so much of ourselves?

The truth is, we all age.

We all develop lines and wrinkles.
We all gradually lose collagen and elasticity.
Our bodies change.
Our faces change.
Our hormones change.
Our energy changes.

And none of that means we are any less beautiful, feminine, desirable, worthy or us.

I’m not here to tell you that you shouldn’t want to make changes. If something is bothering you and you want to explore what might help, I’m always here to listen, talk things through and support you without judgement.

But I also want you to know this:

You do not need to fix every part of yourself.

You don’t have to scrutinise your face in every mirror.
You don’t have to hate your arms because they’re softer than they once were.
You don’t have to apologise for your wrinkles.
You don’t have to chase the face or body you had at 25.

Perhaps we can start being a little kinder to the woman looking back at us.

Because those lines have come from years of laughing, crying, worrying, loving, parenting, working, surviving, celebrating and living.

Your face tells your story. Your body has carried you through life.

So yes, look after yourself. Invest in yourself. Do the things that make you feel confident and happy.

But please don’t forget to love the woman underneath it all.

And if you ever need someone to talk to about how you’re feeling about your appearance, I’m here. Not to judge you. Not to tell you what you need to change.

Just to listen. 🤍

We’re allowed to grow older.
We’re allowed to change.
And we’re absolutely allowed to love ourselves through every version.
