When Lyndsey first came to me, she’d never had hair extensions before and wasn’t looking for a huge transformation. She just wanted to add a little more fullness to her own hair and see how she got on.

So we started with one pack of Seamless Tapes - subtle, lightweight and beautifully natural.

THIS is what hair extensions can look like on fine hair 🤍

Not huge amounts of hair.
Not an obvious “extension” look.
Just longer, fuller-looking hair that still looks completely natural.

If your hair is naturally fine, has become thinner over time, or you’re frustrated by wispy ends and a lack of fullness, you may never have considered hair extensions as a solution.

But they absolutely can be - when the right method and amount of hair is chosen for you.

This lovely transformation was created using individually placed Nano extensions, adding length and density while still keeping the finished result beautifully natural.

And this is where I think extensions should be different.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Some clients are best suited to Nanos, some to Seamless Tapes, some to Butterfly/Adaptiweft and sometimes a combination of methods gives the best result.

It all starts with your natural hair.

Its density.

🤍 “I have fine hair… which hair extensions should I have?”

It’s one of the questions I’m asked most often.

And the answer might surprise you…

There isn’t one extension method that is automatically “best” for fine hair.

Two women can both describe their hair as fine, but their hair can be completely different.

One might have very fine individual strands but lots of them. Another might have lower density, fragile areas around the hairline or noticeably thinner sections.

And what they want from extensions can be completely different too.

✨ A little extra thickness through the ends
✨ More volume and fullness
✨ Extra length
✨ Help filling finer areas
✨ Or a complete transformation

That’s why at The Hair Refinery, I start with your hair - not the extension method.

Before recommending anything, I look at your natural density, the condition and strength of your hair, where you need the additional fullness, the result you want to achieve and how much additional hair your own hair can comfortably support.

Then we decide on the method.

Sometimes that might be nanos
Sometimes tapes
Sometimes a lightweight weft
Sometimes a carefully planned combination of methods

And if I don’t believe extensions are suitable for your hair, I’ll tell you that too. 🤍

Because particularly when working with fine hair, my priority isn’t fitting the maximum amount of extensions possible.

It’s creating a result that looks beautiful and natural while respecting the hair that’s supporting them.

Because this is my natural hair too.
