After countless years of straightening my hair and battling frizz, I'm finally giving the undone look a chance. Let's see where this journey takes me! ✨

Has anyone else noticed their hair texture changing during menopause? 🤍

As a Trichologist, I know why...

As our hormones fluctuate and estrogen levels decline, our hair can change in ways we never expected. Some women experience hair thinning because our hair cells slow down and don't reproduce as quickly. Estrogen also helps maintain the natural oils (sebum) that keep our scalp and hair healthy, so when levels fall, our scalp and hair can becomes drier.

This change can even affect the shape of the hair follicle. As it becomes drier, the follicle can change from a round shape to a more oval one, resulting in hair that's drier, wavier, curlier, finer—or even wirier than it used to be. 🧬

Instead of constantly fighting my hair, I'm choosing to work with it and embrace the change. 🌊
