THE STANDING EIGHT: Eight women, Eight stories, One ring.

The Standing Eight is a new verbatim theatre production bringing the real voices of women in boxing to the stage. Built from interviews with 8 women from Scotland’s boxing communities, the piece explores the experiences, identities and challenges that shape their journeys within the sport.

Presented as part of the Glasgow 2026 Festival, The Standing Eight reflects on a period of change within women’s boxing, capturing both personal and collective histories, and offering a considered portrait of a community continuing to evolve.
