A gentle update about my return to work 💫

As many of you know, I’m currently on a short maternity leave after having our second baby 7 weeks ago. Madden is truly the most special little angel and has completed our family in ways I can’t explain.

Prior to and during my pregnancy, I have always been such a busy person who always just pushes on and gets straight back to business regardless of anything that gets in my way. However, Madden’s birth was difficult and the recovery even more challenging. To add to this, she has become really quite unsettled, doesn’t sleep unless on me and is a little barnacle baby 🥹

I know these moments will pass and they really don’t stay around for long. As hard as they are, I want to soak it all in and enjoy it / be present for the special times as well as the challenging.

Initially, I had planned to reopen my diary this month and welcome appointments again from September onwards but due to ongoing health concerns and it just taking longer to navigate this stage, I know that where I’m most needed right now is by Madden and Munro - our daughters.

You will see that I’ll be doing some work, with weddings, training & bridal previews - but I’m putting a hold on occasion bookings for a little longer. I can’t put the pressure on myself to show up the way I am for my family, and then show up even more within the studio. I also know that with barely any sleep right now, I will run myself into the ground if I do so.

To anyone who has been waiting for a September appointment, I’m hugely sorry to let you down. It does now just feel a little too soon for me but I look forward to returning and welcoming you all from October onwards.

Thank you for all of the love, support and patience. I can never express just how much I value each and every customer, student or bride of who chooses me and I can’t wait to be back with you very soon.

It’s the professionalism. The personality. Capturing the content and the moments you haven’t even noticed are quietly happening, for you to look back on and cherish.

It’s having standards of the highest heights and pouring care and compassion into building relationships. It’s taking pride in how I present myself on one of the most special days of your life.

It’s knowing when you need a little reassurance, when you need to be cheered for and when you simply need someone in your corner who has everything under control or to recognise when you need some quiet time.

It’s how I work with the people around me, not just alongside them. But more than anything, it’s how seriously I take showing up for you. It’s knowing I don’t need to do any of the above but I genuinely want to.

At the end of the day; being bloody good at makeup is the expectation but everything surrounding it is why I want you to remember me. And if that’s how you want your wedding morning to feel? I’d love to be the one you choose for it 🤎
