Five years ago, I stepped into the makeup industry professionally with so much ambition, never really knowing where it might take me. Over those five years, I’ve followed and looked up to some incredible artists within the industry and mitchell halliday has always been one of them.

Getting the opportunity to finally meet him at the UK Hair & Beauty Awards was such a moment , but walking over to introduce myself and hearing him say my name before I’d even had the chance to say it genuinely stopped me in my tracks.

It might seem like such a small thing, but to me it meant so much. To be recognised by somebody whose work and career you’ve admired, simply because they already know who you are and what you do, is one of those moments that makes you realise just how far you’ve come.

I’ve spent the last five years working, learning, creating, pushing myself and building a name for myself in an industry I genuinely love. Sometimes you’re so focused on where you’re trying to get to that you forget to look at how far you’ve already come.
This was definitely one of those reminders.

Five years into my career, and the people I look up to are beginning to know my name.
That, for me, is an achievement I’ll never take for granted. 🖤
