We’ve been filming some important content around breast awareness and encouraging everyone to get into the habit of checking regularly.

When checking your breasts, remember the 7 P’s

Position – Know what’s normal for you
Palpation – Feel all areas of the breast and armpit
Pressure – Use different levels of pressure when checking
Pattern – Follow the same pattern each time
Perimeter – Check around the whole breast area
Pectoral Area – Don’t forget the upper chest and armpit
Patient Education – Know the signs and what changes to look out for

Breast awareness is about knowing your own body and noticing anything that feels or looks different.

If you notice a new lump, change in shape, skin changes, ni**le changes or anything else unusual, always speak to your GP or healthcare professional.
