We’re halfway through the year.
Perhaps you’re exactly where you hoped you’d be.
Or perhaps life has taken you somewhere you never expected.
Maybe you’ve realised that the career you worked so hard for no longer fulfils you.
Maybe a relationship has changed.
Maybe grief, anxiety, stress or burnout has altered what matters most.
Or maybe you’ve simply outgrown the person you were six months ago.
Imagine yourself standing at a crossroads, pausing, looking in different directions and wondering which path to take next.
Here’s something worth remembering.
Changing direction isn’t failure.
Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is stop forcing ourselves down a path that no longer fits and choose one that feels more aligned with who we are today.
A mid-year pivot doesn’t have to mean changing everything overnight.
It might look like:
• Setting healthier boundaries.
• Asking for help.
• Prioritising your wellbeing.
• Letting go of unrealistic expectations.
• Taking one small step towards the life you really want.
Counselling provides a safe, confidential space to pause, reflect and explore where you are now and where you’d like to go next.
It’s never too late to change direction.
Your story is still being written.

Mid-Year Check-In: How are you, really?
We’re halfway through the year, and whilst social media is filled with holiday countdowns, sunshine and family adventures, the reality isn’t the same for everyone.
For many people, the long summer holidays bring additional pressure rather than rest.
Children are at home, routines disappear, finances are stretched, and parents often find themselves juggling work, childcare and everyone else’s needs whilst putting their own wellbeing last.
For others, periods of increased socialising, major sporting events and more time spent at home can lead to heightened relationship tensions. Some people notice they’re drinking more than usual or relying on other unhealthy ways to cope.
If you’re already feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low or emotionally exhausted, these weeks can feel incredibly long.
At UK Therapy Guild Counselling Services, all of our counselling sessions are delivered remotely, allowing you to access professional support from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
We understand that money worries can stop people reaching out, which is why we offer low-cost online counselling. If finances are making it difficult, please get in touch. In some circumstances, we may be able to reduce the cost even further because everyone deserves access to support when they need it most.
You don’t have to wait until you’re at breaking point to ask for help.

Some of the most important work happens behind the scenes.
This week has been filled with meetings, conversations and planning, all with one aim. To continue building a counselling service that offers the very best support for our clients while creating meaningful opportunities for our counsellors.
I’ve been meeting with Community Interest Companies to explore additional placement opportunities for counsellors who have successfully achieved their fitness to practise. One comment that really stayed with me was that our existing placement providers actively seek out UK Therapy Guild trainees because they know the standard of training they receive. As an educator, that fills me with pride.
I’ve also had conversations today about therapy for young children. It highlighted an important area of need within our community, so I’m now exploring the possibility of expanding our counselling service by bringing a qualified play therapist into our team.
Every conversation, every meeting and every new connection is another step towards creating a service that is professional, compassionate and genuinely accessible.
Sometimes progress isn’t always visible from the outside, but I wanted to share a little of what’s happening behind the scenes.

We’re exploring the possibility of becoming a Community Interest Company (CIC).
For us, this isn’t just about changing our legal structure. It’s about strengthening our commitment to making counselling more accessible and working alongside others who share the same values.
As our student counsellors complete their training, they’re ready to begin their supervised 100-hour placements. We’d love to build relationships with CICs, charities and community organisations across Merseyside and beyond to explore how, together, we can support more people through affordable counselling, wellbeing initiatives and community partnerships.
Our journey has taught us that integrity matters. Sometimes the hardest lessons in business come from learning who truly shares your vision. Those experiences don’t harden you—they help you build something stronger, kinder and more purposeful.
At UK Therapy Guild Counselling Services, we’re choosing collaboration over competition, relationships over transactions, and people over profit.
If you’re part of a CIC, charity or community organisation and would like to explore working together, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re currently exploring the decision to become a Community Interest Company (CIC).
For us, it isn’t just about changing our legal structure. It’s about becoming even more intentional in the way we serve our community.
We believe counselling should be accessible, communities become stronger when organisations work together, and success should never come at the expense of compassion.
At UK Therapy Guild Counselling Services, we’re building something bigger than ourselves.
As our student counsellors complete their training, they each undertake 100 supervised placement hours before they qualify. These are dedicated, compassionate people who are ready to make a real difference while continuing to grow into the professionals they aspire to be.
That’s why we’d love to connect with other Community Interest Companies, charities and community organisations across Merseyside and beyond.
Whether it’s providing affordable counselling, supporting staff wellbeing, delivering community workshops or creating referral pathways, we believe collaboration creates greater impact than competition ever could.
Our own journey has taught us some valuable lessons.
Not every relationship in business is built on mutual respect. Sometimes you have to step away from people who only see what they can take, rather than what you can build together. Those moments aren’t easy, but they shape you.
They remind you to protect your values, choose integrity over popularity, and build partnerships with people who genuinely want to make a difference.
Those lessons have made us stronger, clearer and even more committed to creating a service where kindness, professionalism and integrity sit at the heart of everything we do.
Because our clients deserve more than counselling.
They deserve to know they’re being supported by people who truly care.
If you’re part of a CIC, charity or community organisation and think we could work together, we’d love to start a conversation.
Together, we really can make mental health support more accessible, one person at a time.

Every community has people who need support.
Every community has organisations working hard to provide it.
And sometimes, the greatest impact happens when those organisations work together.
At UK Therapy Guild Counselling Services, we’re beginning conversations with Community Interest Companies (CICs), charities and community organisations across Liverpool, Wirral, St Helens and the wider North West to explore how we can work together to increase access to emotional wellbeing support.
As demand for counselling continues to grow, so does the need for organisations that share a commitment to supporting the people they serve.
We’re exploring partnership opportunities, counselling placements, community wellbeing projects and innovative ways of making emotional support more accessible to local communities.
Why do we do this?
Because we believe in giving back.
Because we believe strong communities are built through connection and collaboration.
Because we believe that when organisations share a common purpose, meaningful change becomes possible.
As our counselling service continues to grow, we’re also exploring future opportunities to expand our community impact, including the possibility of becoming a Community Interest Company ourselves.
We don’t believe counselling should only be available to those who can afford it.
We believe communities become stronger when support is accessible, relationships are valued, and organisations work together for the benefit of the people they serve.
If you’re part of a CIC, charity or community organisation and would like to explore how we might work together, we’d love to have a conversation.
