Or how much she’s had to overcome just to walk through the door.

Stress isn’t “just in your head.”

It affects your whole body.

If you’ve been feeling tense, exhausted, overwhelmed or like you can never quite switch off, your body may simply be responding to the stress it’s been carrying.

The encouraging news is that small, consistent habits can make a real difference.

Moving your body.

Slowing your breathing.

These aren’t about “fixing” stress overnight.

They’re simple ways to help your body release stress and begin to feel calmer.

That’s something I see every week at EmPower.

Women arrive after busy days, juggling work, family and everything else life throws at them.

They move, laugh, challenge themselves and leave standing a little taller than when they arrived.

Strength is about so much more than muscles.

It’s about giving yourself permission to make time for you.

Over the years, I’ve watched women surprise themselves in ways they never expected.

Not because they suddenly became “sporty”...

But because they gave themselves permission to start.

They became stronger.

They discovered they were capable of more than they realised.

Everyday tasks started to feel easier.

They found energy they thought they’d lost.

And perhaps most importantly...

they started believing in themselves again.

Understanding your pelvic floor doesn’t need to be complicated.

Many women have heard about pelvic floor exercises but aren’t always shown how the pelvic floor works alongside breathing, posture, movement and everyday strength.

When we build strength throughout the whole body, we’re often supporting the pelvic floor at the same time.

That’s why at EmPower we focus on movements that help you feel stronger and more confident in everyday life - whether that’s carrying shopping, climbing stairs, getting up from the floor or simply moving with confidence.

When people think about strength training, they often picture heavier weights.

But the biggest changes usually show up somewhere else entirely.

In everyday life.

You might notice:

⭐ Carrying shopping feels easier

⭐ Stairs don’t leave you as breathless

⭐ You stop automatically looking for the lift

⭐ Walking up the Tube escalator becomes something you can do, not something you avoid

⭐ Getting up from the floor takes less effort

⭐ You feel more steady and confident

⭐ Everyday tasks feel less exhausting

Strength isn’t just about what you can lift.

One of my favourite pieces of advice when people ask how they can build more movement into their day?

Walk the escalators at the Tube station instead of standing still.

Not every time.

Not perfectly.

Just when you can.

Those small moments add up.
