I had the absolute honour of doing Jasmin Panchal bridal henna 🄹 what started off as henna colleagues turned into a friendship and ultimately sisters. Thank you for making me a part of your celebrations and special day.

Jasmin told me the elements she liked such as roses and reverse negative and gave me complete free creativity. I had sketched the design weeks ago but the night I landed, night before the henna I changed my mind completely and put everything together on the day. I couldn’t have been happier with the result and Jasmin was just beaming! Thank you for trusting me. Congratulations my roomie I wish you a wonderful married life 🄰. Ps the henna stain was insane, can’t wait to post it.

The Meanings of the Lotus in Bridal Henna

✨ Purity & New Beginnings: Because the lotus grows in muddy water but rises above the surface to bloom perfectly clean and untouched, it represents overcoming obstacles and entering a new chapter of life with a pure heart.

✨ Devotion & Spiritual Awakening: In many cultures, the lotus represents divine beauty, grace, and a deep, soulful connection. In bridal henna, it symbolizes the spiritual bonding of two souls.

✨ Prosperity & Good Fortune: It is traditionally associated with abundance, prosperity, and auspiciousness—wishing the bride a life filled with emotional and material wealth as she starts her journey.

✨ Resilience & Grace: It’s a beautiful reminder that no matter the surroundings, true beauty and love can flourish beautifully.

Would you consider having lotuses in your henna design?

Ever wondered what the meaning behind a paisley is? šŸ¤”āœØ

I’ve always been instinctively drawn to the paisley and it is definitely one of my favourite shapes. I always try and incorporate it into my designs. But it got me thinking of the history behind the Paisley, the meaning and why it’s been used for many years in henna designs. With the help of Google and ChatGPT 🤣 I found that it carries thousands of years of sacred energy!

Depending on the era and culture, this iconic teardrop symbol represents:

🌱 New Beginnings & Life: In ancient Persia, it was the boteh, symbolizing a sprouting seed, renewal, and the ā€œTree of Life.ā€

🄭 Prosperity & Fortune: In Indian traditions, it represents the mango- a universal symbol of abundance, joy, and good luck for bridal celebrations.

🦚 Mughal Royalty & Grace: During the Mughal era, artists beautifully merged the shape with the silhouette of the peacock, transforming it into an emblem of royalty, elegance, and celestial beauty.

Swipe through to see some of my favorite ways to bring the paisley to life in my designs! āž”ļø

Still not over Sundays henna workshop with the super talented

Learnt new floral designs, and how to fine tune peacocks and elephants. I’m so excited to see how I put everything I learnt into practice! As another artist told me on Sunday it’s so important to invest in your skills and I’m so happy that i have! There’s always room for improvement.

Thank you for being my model! A shame we didn’t get to finish the design! Until next time šŸ™ƒ
