People often ask how I balance working full-time as an interior designer while also running my own business and the honest answer is that it isn’t always perfectly balanced.
Some weeks my job needs more of me, and other weeks I have more time and energy to focus on the business. I’ve had to learn to plan ahead, use my evenings and weekends intentionally and accept that I can’t do everything at once.
But having both is important to me.
My career allows me to work on large hospitality projects, collaborate with other designers and continue developing professionally.
My business gives me space to explore my own ideas, work with textiles, celebrate colour and culture, and create something that feels completely personal to me.
They don’t compete with each other, they feed into each other.
The skills I develop through my work make me a stronger business owner, and the freedom I have within my business keeps me curious and creatively fulfilled as a designer.
The balance may look different from week to week, but I’ve realised it doesn’t need to be equal to still work.be.

The next collection has officially left the studio and gone for a little picnic 🌿😂
These are the two colourways I’ve chosen to create the next collection with bold berry and earthy brown.
Seeing them together outside has made me even more excited to bring everything to life. Now the fun part begins…

A little look back at Canada Water Market

Online orders are wonderful, but meeting you in person, hearing which pieces you’re drawn to and watching you try everything on will always be one of my favourite parts of running this business.
The outfit was nearly finished… it just needed a little something.
