Infrared light is not a wellness trend.
It is a 25-year-old clinical protocol developed by a Japanese cardiologist, studied in hospitals, published in peer-reviewed journals, and replicated across multiple institutions.
Swipe to read what the research actually says. Then save this post and share it with someone living with chronic pain, fatigue, or a heart condition who deserves to know this exists. As always, speak to your doctor if you have a chronic condition before use.

After years of battling eczema and steroid withdrawal, I finally felt relief, not from creams, diets, or potions but from regular infrared sauna sessions at SweatLounge. My skin calmed, the itch subsided, and the redness around my eyes and neck faded… but more importantly, my confidence and peace of mind returned. The beautiful, relaxing space and welcoming team turned each session into an emotional reset as much as a physical one. If you’re chasing true self-care that actually heals, you might just find it here.” — Sam Garcia
Infrared heat therapy is being studied for its effects on circulation, skin physiology and inflammatory pathways. For people dealing with eczema or topical steroid withdrawal (TSW), symptoms such as intense itching, redness, sensitivity and disrupted sleep can have a major impact on daily life.
Sam found that regular infrared sauna sessions became a valuable part of her routine during her experience with eczema and steroid withdrawal, helping her feel calmer, more comfortable and more in control of her skin.
Put the phone down, the ops team can wait. You deserve 30 minutes to feel great on this rainy day.

You don’t need a spa day.
You need 40 minutes alone.
Sauna is about far more than sweating. For women navigating perimenopause and menopause, regular heat exposure may support several systems involved in stress regulation, metabolic health, mood and sleep.
As core temperature rises, the body mounts a short-term stress response, including a temporary increase in cortisol and catecholamines. The recovery period that follows can promote relaxation, which may help explain why many people report feeling calmer after a session.
Heat also increases circulation and activates heat-shock proteins — cellular proteins involved in stress resilience, repair and metabolic function. Regular sauna use has been associated with improvements in insulin sensitivity and cardiovascular health, both increasingly important through midlife.
There is also evidence that sauna may support sleep, mood and recovery. For women dealing with fluctuating hormones, fatigue and changes in metabolic health, these effects can make sauna a useful part of a broader midlife wellness routine.
One important note for anyone using HRT patches: high heat can potentially increase the absorption of transdermal medication. Follow the instructions for your specific patch and speak to your prescriber or pharmacist if unsure.
Sauna isn’t a replacement for HRT, medical treatment, nutrition, movement or sleep. But used consistently, it can be a useful tool for supporting health and resilience through midlife.
