Nobody tells you that the joint stiffness, the hair thinning and the skin changes are all connected.

They are. And the connection is collagen.

Oestrogen is one of the primary regulators of collagen synthesis throughout the body. When it falls during menopause, fibroblasts produce less collagen, the enzymes that break it down become more active, and the effect plays out across every tissue that depends on collagen for its structure.

Skin. Hair. Joint cartilage. Bone matrix. Tendons. All declining at once, driven by the same mechanism.

Collagen supplementation does not replace oestrogen and it will not reverse the menopause transition. What it can do is provide the substrate and the cellular signals that support the tissues trying to maintain themselves in an environment of reduced oestrogen. That is a meaningful contribution, and the clinical evidence behind it in postmenopausal women is growing.

Three mechanisms. Clinically relevant.

1. Superoxide dismutase (SOD): Chaga is among the richest natural sources of SOD, the enzyme that catalyses the conversion of superoxide radicals into hydrogen peroxide and then into water and oxygen.
Superoxide is one of the primary drivers of collagen fibre degradation. SOD addresses it enzymatically, not just competitively like dietary antioxidants.

2. Melanin photoprotection: The natural melanin complex in Chaga physically absorbs UV radiation, reducing pe*******on depth to living keratinocytes and suppressing the expression of matrix metalloproteinases that degrade collagen on UV exposure.

3. Inotodiol and triterpenoids: Research published in PubMed Central (PMC10454022) demonstrates that inotodiol suppresses pro-inflammatory cytokine expression including IL-1 and IL-6 at a genetic level, reducing the chronic low-grade inflammatory environment that accelerates connective tissue breakdown. Beta-glucans additionally stimulate cell renewal, support wound healing, and reinforce skin barrier hydration and integrity.

This is the upstream case for Chaga alongside tissue-specific collagen peptides that address the downstream repair and rebuilding process.

Your skin is being attacked from three directions every single day.

UV radiation activating the enzymes that break down your collagen. Free radicals stealing electrons from your skin cells. Inflammatory signals degrading your connective tissue from the inside out.

Chaga mushroom addresses all three simultaneously.

Superoxide dismutase, one of the most powerful antioxidant enzymes in nature, converts destructive free radicals into water and oxygen before they reach your skin cells. Natural melanin physically absorbs UV radiation before it triggers collagen-degrading enzymes. Inotodiol suppresses the inflammatory cytokines that accelerate skin ageing at a genetic level.

And the form matters. NDS uses full-spectrum Chaga biomass, not extract, because the extraction process destroys SOD enzyme activity entirely. There is no extracted equivalent of what biomass delivers.

Glucosamine has been the default joint ingredient for 30 years. The evidence has never fully supported it.

The GAIT trial, the largest independent study ever conducted on glucosamine, found no statistically significant benefit over placebo in the overall study population. Cochrane Reviews describe the literature as highly heterogeneous. Bioavailability sits at approximately 25% at best, and that is for the pharmaceutical-grade sulfate form used in positive trials, not the hydrochloride form found in most commercial products.

In June 2026, Nature Metabolism published research linking glucosamine use to a 25% higher risk of death within five years in Alzheimer’s patients, and faster progression from mild cognitive impairment to full Alzheimer’s disease.

The mechanism gap is equally significant. Glucosamine provides substrate. It does not signal chondroblasts to initiate repair. Without that signalling step, you are delivering building materials to a site where no construction has been ordered.

NDS uses CPF 218 instead. 98.4% digestibility. A documented dual-action mechanism. Tissue-specific.

Three randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials on the specific BioActive type II collagen peptides in NDS Collagen Ezy Move.

147 athletes with joint pain. Statistically significant reduction in pain vs placebo over 24 weeks.

30 osteoarthritis patients. MRI confirmed more cartilage in the knee joints at 24 and 48 weeks. Less inflammation.

160 young athletes with knee injuries. Significantly reduced pain and stiffness within 3 weeks. 70% experienced a positive effect.

Does collagen help with PCOS? Honestly - it depends what you’re asking.

For hormones? No evidence. For hair thinning, skin, joints, and the liver pathway that clears excess androgens? Interesting story.

Your multivitamin might be doing less than you think.

Most vitamins are synthetic isolates - single molecules that your body doesn’t fully recognise as food.

Food State vitamins are different: nutrients grown into a food matrix, so your body absorbs and uses them the way nature intended.

Same nutrient. Significantly better uptake.

One scoop. Three tissue targets.

Most collagen supplements use a single generic peptide. Multi Collagen Total uses three — each one clinically selected for skin, hair & nails, cartilage, and bones.

The difference between a supplement and a protocol.

Cordyceps has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 3,000 years. Modern research is now catching up with what practitioners have known for centuries.

Here’s what makes NDS Cordyceps different from every other mushroom supplement on the market — it’s made from the complete, intact biomass.

Most mushroom supplements use extracts, concentrates, or freeze-dried powder. These processes isolate certain compounds but destroy the enzymes, secondary metabolites, and hundreds of bioactive substances that only exist when the whole mushroom is preserved intact.

NDS Cordyceps biomass preserves all of it — including the beta-glucans, terpenes, sterols, amino acids, and enzymes that work together as nature intended. Up to 400 active substances, none of them heated or isolated away.

The result is a supplement that supports energy metabolism, oxygen utilisation, immune regulation, and adaptogenic stress response — the way a whole food does, not a synthetic isolate.

Used for centuries. Validated by science. Made the way it should be.
