Let us Pray
Grant us, Lord, a true knowledge of salvation,
so that, freed from fear and from the power of our foes,
we may serve you faithfully all the days of our life.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
________
The Lord bless us, and keep us from all evil, and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen.

Homily for Monday, 12th Week in Ordinary Time.
2 Kings 17:5-8, 13-15a,18; Ps.60; Matthew 7: 1-5
Title: Looking Inward Before Looking Around
The first reading recalls the fall of the Kingdom of Israel. Despite God's constant love and repeated warnings through the prophets, the people refused to listen and gradually drifted away from Him. Their story reminds us that spiritual decline often begins when we stop examining our lives and become less attentive to God's voice. The Lord continues to speak to us today through His word, our conscience, and the events of daily life. A wise person is one who regularly pauses, reflects, and allows God to show him the areas that need renewal.
In the Gospel, Jesus invites us to look inward before looking around. It is easy to notice the faults of others while overlooking our own shortcomings. Yet real growth begins when we honestly acknowledge our weaknesses and seek God's mercy. When we become aware of our own need for forgiveness, we are less likely to judge others harshly and more likely to treat them with patience and compassion. Today, let us ask for the humility to examine our hearts, correct what needs correcting, and become instruments of God's mercy to those around us.

🚨 ALTAR BOYS GOT SUSPENDED... AND THE WHOLE PARISH NOTICED 😭⛪
Some altar boys in a parish were temporarily suspended after playing football on church premises.
It was even announced during Mass.
Needless to say, everyone got the message. 😅
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🙏 A LESSON IN REVERENCE
Children will be children.
They are energetic, playful, and sometimes mischievous.
But the Church is not just another building.
It is the house of God.
Learning reverence is part of learning the faith.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
❤️ SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL EMERGED
With some altar servers temporarily suspended, more girls stepped forward to serve.
And it has been beautiful to witness.
More young people participating in the liturgy is always a blessing for the Church.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
✝️ LESSON FOR CHRISTIANS
Discipline is not always punishment.
Sometimes it is formation.
Sometimes a correction today helps build faithful disciples tomorrow.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
📖 SCRIPTURE
"Let all things be done decently and in order."
— 1 Corinthians 14:40
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
✨ FINAL THOUGHT
The boys will be back.
The lesson will remain.
And perhaps everyone in the parish was reminded that reverence matters in the house of God.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🙏 PRAYER
Lord Jesus,
Help us to honor Your presence with reverence and love.
Guide our young people to serve You faithfully and joyfully.
Amen.
