I know ‘sports massage’ sounds like it’s only for people training for a marathon or doing very impressive things in lycra, but it really isn’t 😊

Sports massage can be helpful for anyone who moves, lifts, trains, walks, runs, works on their feet, carries children, does DIY, goes to the gym, overdoes it in the garden, or just generally asks quite a lot from their body.

So basically … most of us!

It can help with tight muscles, soreness, recovery, stiffness, mobility and those annoying little niggles that keep coming back because you keep saying “It’ll be fine” …

And listen, sometimes it is fine - until it isn’t.

You don’t need to be an athlete to book sports massage. You just need a body that’s doing a lot and could probably use some help.

New month, same body. Before you try to overhaul your whole life in July, start there.

With the body you live in every day. The one that carries you through work, parenting, training, driving, stressing, lifting, rushing, doing, fixing, organising and all the other things you somehow squeeze into a week.

It does a lot for you and it’s allowed to need a bit of looking after.

A massage doesn’t need to be a big self care moment, it can just be one practical thing you do to help your body feel less tight, less heavy and less fed up with you.

So if July is your reset, let it be a realistic one.

Before July starts, quick check in … How is your body actually feeling?

Not how are you coping, not how much have you got done, not how many things are still on the list … Your actual body 🧍🏼‍♀️

🤍 Are your shoulders tight?
🤍 Is your neck pulling?
🤍 Are your headaches creeping in?
🤍 Does your back feel stiff?
🤍 Are your legs heavy?
🤍 Are you sleeping badly?
🤍 Are you clenching your jaw without even realising?

These are all little signs your body might need some attention before you carry all of it into another month.

[And no, you don’t have to wait until something is properly painful before you do something about it!]

If June has been busy, stressful, hot, chaotic or just a bit much, this is your reminder to book in.

Busy people are usually the first to say they don’t have time for a massage.

Which is fair.

But also … you’re probably exactly who needs one the most!

If you’re constantly rushing, working, parenting, organising everyone else, holding stress in your shoulders and getting to the end of the day feeling like your body has been clenched since 8am - that catches up with you.

You might not notice it at first - then suddenly your neck feels tight, your back starts complaining, your sleep is off, your headaches are creeping in and you’re wondering why you feel so done in.

Massage is not about having loads of spare time, it’s about making a bit of time before your body forces you to.

If life is busy and your body is starting to feel it, this is your reminder to book in 📲

Cupping always gets people curious because yes, it does look a bit strange if you’ve never had it before 😂

But it’s not as scary as it looks, I promise!

Cupping therapy uses suction to help lift and release the soft tissue, which can be really helpful for areas that feel tight, stuck, heavy or just generally annoyed with you.

It can support circulation, ease muscle tension and help with that feeling of everything being a bit glued down, especially around the shoulders, back and legs.

You may be left with marks afterwards, but they’re not bruises in the same way you’d get from bumping into something. They usually fade over a few days and I’ll always talk you through what to expect.

As always, it’s not a one size fits all thing.
If cupping is right for you, we can include it.

Quick heatwave reminder because, wow, it is warm out there 🔥

Please look after yourself properly.
Drink more water than you think you need.
Try not to run around like a little maniac in the hottest part of the day.
Rest when your body is asking you to rest.
And if you’re feeling heavy, sluggish, headachy or tense, don’t just push through and hope for the best.

Heat can make everything feel a bit more intense, especially if you’re already tired, stressed or carrying tension in your body.

If you’re booked in, please come hydrated💧

Your body usually starts whispering before it starts shouting … the problem is, most of us ignore the whisper.

➡️ Tight shoulders
➡️ Headaches creeping in
➡️ Jaw clenching
➡️ Poor sleep
➡️ Feeling heavy, tense or restless
➡️ That ache in your back that keeps coming and going
➡️ Getting to the end of the day and realising your whole body hurts

None of this means you’ve failed at looking after yourself, it probably just means you’ve been carrying a lot recently.

Massage gives your body a chance to soften before everything builds up and you hit that ‘I can’t keep doing this’ point.

You don’t need to wait until you’re completely burnt out to book in. In fact, I’d really rather you didn’t.

If your body has been dropping hints, it’s time to take notice 🫶🏻
