A good beauty treatment doesn’t start and end at the appointment.

How long your nails, lashes, brows or skin results last often comes down to what happens in between too.

Little things like the right aftercare, booking maintenance at the right time and not leaving appointments too long can make a huge difference to how everything looks and feels.

That’s why I’ll always recommend what actually suits you rather than just squeezing in whatever is quickest.

Good results are about consistency, not constantly starting again.

You finish your appointment thinking…

I’ll sort my next one when I know what I’m doing.

Then three weeks disappear.

You suddenly realise your brows need doing, your nails are due or you’ve got something coming up at the weekend…

…and the appointment you wanted has gone.

Sound familiar?

A lot of my regular salon guests already book on a rotation, and honestly, it makes life so much easier.

You know your appointment is there.

I know how much time I need for you.

And neither of us is trying to perform diary Tetris at the last minute.

Especially if you need evenings, Saturdays or a particular time of day, booking ahead is always the safest bet.

So this is your little reminder:

If you know you’ll need it, book it before you need it. 🤎

If I had a pound for every time someone said this before a brow appointment… 🤎

And I completely understand it.

Not everyone wants bold, heavily defined brows.

Some salon guests want a little more shape. Others want to make their brows look fuller or bring out what they’ve already got.

That’s why we have a conversation before we start.

We’ll talk about the look you want, your usual makeup routine and how much maintenance you’re comfortable with.

Because what looks lovely on someone else’s face might not be the look you want for yourself.

A brow treatment should be tailored to YOU.

Whether you prefer something soft and natural or a more defined finish, we’ll discuss the options and what’s suitable for your brows.

Can we talk about builder gel maintenance for a minute?

Because getting six weeks out of your nails isn’t necessarily the achievement you think it is. 👀

As your natural nails grow, the product moves further away from where it was originally applied.

That means the balance of your enhancement changes, and leaving it too long can increase the risk of lifting, breakages and damage to your natural nails.

That’s why I generally recommend maintenance every 3–4 weeks, depending on your nails and how they grow.

And please don’t start picking at them when you notice lifting. You’re not just removing the product when you do that.

Builder gel is a lovely treatment, but looking after your nails between appointments is part of getting the best from it.

I’ve been in the beauty industry since 1998, and believe me, I’ve seen a LOT change.

Treatments, trends, products, brows that we really should have left alone. 😂

But one of the biggest things I’ve learnt, especially over the last few months, is that I don’t want to spend my days rushing from one appointment to another.

I love what I do and I want to enjoy more of what I do.

I want my salon guests to enjoy being here.

And I want you to feel like you’ve actually had an appointment, not like you’ve been squeezed into a gap between another six people.

So behind the scenes, I’ve been making some changes.

Looking at my treatments, how I work and what I want the next chapter of Ema’s House of Beauty to look like.

The beauty treatments you know and love aren’t going anywhere.

But the experience? That’s something I’m putting a lot more thought into.

A lot of my regular clients are already really organised and book their appointments on a rotation, which is exactly why they rarely have to scramble for space.

Both Sam and I are currently booked until October, and once the diary fills, there genuinely isn’t much wiggle room.
