I always put a drop of water over any leftover glue.
It’s a small step, but an important one for a lash artist’s safety. 💧

Cyanoacrylate glue reacts with moisture and cures much faster when exposed to water. This helps prevent the leftover drop from sitting open and continuing to release irritating vapours into the air.
So yes, a tiny drop of water can make a difference.

Make it a habit every time you finish working with your glue💗

My client prep looks like this:

1. Ventilate the room
2. Disinfect the workspace
3. Prepare the bed
4. Set up my lash station
5. Check my stock
6. Prepare the lashes
7. Apply anti-allergy gel if needed
8. Final check ✨

Taping the eyelid to the patch is actually a very useful technique. If the eye slightly opens during the appointment, this helps reduce the chance of glue fumes reaching the eye and also makes the lashes much easier to work with, as the completed lashes are gently moved out of the way.

There is one important thing to keep in mind, though: don’t use tape that’s too sticky. It can be difficult and uncomfortable to remove, especially on clients with very active eyelids. 👀
