This is one of the main questions we get asked - how long does it take to become a Reflexologist?

We believe in a hands-on aproach, and that learning how to be a competent, confident Reflexologist that really benefits their clients and makes a difference to them takes time.

Our courses generally run for around 9 months, with 16 in-class days throughout that time. It's a commitment, but then shouldn't every qualification and career adjustment be?

You won't find any short courses or quick fixes here!

Reflexology is more than learning points on the feet and the hands.

Of course, understanding the reflex points and learning the techniques is an important part of becoming a Reflexologist.

But there is so much more to it than remembering what connects to what.

It's learning how to make a client feel comfortable.

Learning to listen.

Learning to observe.

Learning how to adapt your approach to the person in front of you.

It's developing the confidence to work professionally, the sensitivity to recognise when someone needs reassurance, and the ability to create a space where they can truly switch off.

These are the skills that develop through practical experience, guidance and time.

Because a great Reflexologist isn't simply someone who knows the points.

They're someone who knows how to care for the person in front of them.

That's why, at Three Shires, we believe becoming a Reflexologist is about developing the whole practitioner — not just learning a set of techniques.

Starting something new can come with a lot of questions. and honestly, we'd rather you ask them!

Here are some of the questions we hear most often from people considering training in Reflexology:

“Do I need any previous experience?”
No. You don't need to have studied Reflexology before. Our students come from all sorts of backgrounds and begin their training from the foundations.

“What if I'm nervous about the practical side?”
That's completely normal. You aren't expected to be confident on day one. Confidence develops through practising, receiving feedback and having the support of your tutor.

“Can I fit the course around my life?”
Many of our students are balancing work, family and other commitments alongside their training. We understand that learning something new needs to work within your life.

“What happens if I get stuck?”
You won't be left to figure it out alone. You'll have support throughout your training, including WhatsApp, email and phone support when you need it.

“What can I actually do with my qualification?”
That's one of the exciting parts. You could build your own practice, work within an established business, offer mobile treatments, combine Reflexology with other therapies or develop it alongside your existing career.

And perhaps the question we hear most of all...

“Do you really think I could become a Reflexologist?”

Our answer?

You don't need to have all the confidence before you start.

That's what the journey is for!

If you've been thinking about training but have questions of your own, don't be afraid to ask. Sometimes one conversation is all it takes to turn “I wonder if I could?” into “I'm going to give it a go.”

For completing their first Outside Client Day!

There are always nerves before the first client arrives, however the feeling of "I've actually done it" is amazing!

Our first outside client day is an important part of the journey at Three Shires Reflexology. It gives students the opportunity to put their skills into practice with real clients, while being supported and guided by their tutor.

It's often when the moment when all the hours of learning, practising and asking questions come together.

It’s a chance to experience what working with clients will really feel like — from welcoming them and creating a professional treatment environment, to carrying out the treatment and building confidence in your own abilities.

There might be a few nerves, but there will also be a HUGE sense of achievement!

Because this is where you start to see yourself not just as someone learning Reflexology, but as a Reflexologist in the making. Well done everyone!

October might just look like another month in the calendar, but what if it could be the month you decided to do something differently?

The month you started learning a skill that could become a new career.

The month you took the first step towards working for yourself.

The month you began building a flexible career that could fit around your life.

Or simply the month you stopped thinking “maybe one day” and started making it happen.

Training as a Reflexologist can open the door to so many possibilities — from building your own practice, to adding Reflexology to the skills you already have, to creating a completely new direction for your working life.

And you don't need to know exactly where it will take you before you begin.

You just need to be willing to take that first step.

Our October courses in Warwickshire and Milton Keynes could be the beginning of something that changes far more than just your career.

Because sometimes, one decision can change the direction of your future.

In a world that constantly tells us to do more, be more and move faster, sometimes the most valuable thing we can learn is to slow down.

Learning Reflexology isn't something that needs to be rushed.

It's about taking the time to understand the techniques, practise them properly and gradually build confidence in your hands.

There will be things that feel easy, and things that take a little longer to click. That's all part of learning.

When you give yourself the time and space to learn properly, you don't just gain knowledge, you develop genuine confidence.

Because sometimes, progress comes from giving yourself permission not to rush.

You won't be left to figure it out alone!

Starting something new can feel exciting, but it can also feel daunting, which is why support is such an important part of training with Three Shires Reflexology.

Your learning doesn’t stop when you walk out of the classroom. Throughout your course, you’ll have access to your tutor and our team for the questions, reassurance and guidance you need along the way.

Need to ask a quick question?
You can message us on WhatsApp.

Something needs a little more explanation?
Send us an email and we’ll help you work through it.

Prefer to talk something through?
We’re happy to chat on the phone.

And, of course, you’ll have plenty of support during your practical training too — with guidance, feedback and the opportunity to keep developing your skills and confidence.

Sometimes you need someone to explain something differently. Sometimes you need reassurance that you're doing it right. And sometimes you simply need to know that there's someone there to ask.

That's what support is all about.

We want you to finish your training not only qualified, but feeling confident, capable and ready to take your next step as a Reflexologist.

Training as a Reflexologist can open up more opportunities than you might first imagine.

You could build your own private practice, working from a dedicated treatment room or from home.

You could offer mobile Reflexology, taking your treatments into clients’ homes, workplaces or events.

You could work within an established wellbeing business, salon, spa or complementary therapy setting.

You could combine Reflexology with other therapies or skills you already have, creating a broader treatment offering for your clients.

Or you could start small — perhaps working a few days a week alongside your current career or family commitments — and gradually build your client base as your confidence grows.

For some, it becomes a complete career change. For others, it becomes a flexible second income or a valuable addition to the work they already do.

The beauty of Reflexology is that there isn't one way to build your career, you can create a path that works for you.

So, if you've been thinking about learning a new skill or taking your career in a different direction, perhaps it's worth asking yourself:

Where could Reflexology take you?

"..The balance of theory and practical learning was excellent, and I always felt that I was developing the skills I needed to become a confident reflexologist.

No question was ever too much, and Helen & Teresa were always happy to share their knowledge and experiences."

We absolutely love hearing from students about their experience with our tutors.

There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing our students feel supported, encouraged and confident throughout their Reflexology journey.

This lovely review is for one of our tutors who’ll be welcoming a brand new group of students this October, and we know they’re going to be in very good hands.

We’re incredibly proud of the tutors who represent Three Shires and the care they put into helping every student develop their skills and confidence.

Thank you for the wonderful feedback — it means so much to us.

For many people considering a career change, one of the biggest questions is: "How would I make this work around my family?"

One of the things that attracts people to Reflexology is the flexibility it can offer once you're qualified.

Whether you choose to build your own practice, work part-time, offer mobile treatments or combine Reflexology with another career or therapy, you have the opportunity to create something that works around your life, it doesn't have to be all or nothing.

You can build your Reflexology career gradually, at a pace that suits you and your family, while doing something that feels meaningful and rewarding.

And perhaps that's the real appeal! A career that fits into your life, rather than your whole life having to fit around your career.

Could Reflexology be the flexible career you've been looking for?
