My surname, Mathieson, traces back to a meaning that translates to “Son of the Bear.” Strength. Courage. Loyalty. Heritage. Those values became the foundation of everything we’ve built.

This business was never about opening another barbershop.
It was about creating a place where standards matter. Where every haircut carries purpose. Where professionalism isn’t an option—it’s the expectation. Where education shapes the future, and every member of our team shares the same belief: never stop learning, never stop improving, never settle.

Every client who walks through our doors becomes part of that journey.

WELCOME TO THE TEAM 🔥 Lewis Woollard | Barber

I’m proud to introduce the newest member of The Son of the Bear team, Lewis Woollard.

Lewis recently completed our Modern Barber Foundation Course here at Son of the Bear Barber Academy, and throughout the course he showed commitment, determination, professionalism, and a genuine passion for barbering. His progress was so impressive that Ross wanted to give him the opportunity to continue his journey with us.

At 31 years old, Lewis made the decision to retrain and pursue a career in an industry he’s been passionate about for a long time. Since joining the course, he’s thrown himself into learning the craft and has quickly developed a solid foundation of barbering skills.

Starting this Saturday, Lewis will be working in the shop every Saturday , offering FREE haircuts while he continues to build experience, confidence, and his client base before officially stepping into a Junior Barber/Stylist role later this year.

His goal is to continue developing his skills, learn advanced techniques, and refine his craft to deliver high-quality, precision haircuts that leave every client feeling confident. We’re excited to be part of that journey and can’t wait to see where it takes him.
Outside of barbering, Lewis enjoys football, darts, fitness, travelling, food, music, and spending time with family.
