Hot Take - you’re thinkjng the hard work is going to be worse than it is!

You keep telling yourself is going to be so difficult, almost impossible, so you’re stopping yourself from getting it done.

My experience is that nearly always the reality of doing the thing is so much more manageable than what you thought it would be.

And you also shouldn’t be afraid of working hard, because getting through the challenge is rewarding in itself.

It’s time to stop putting off and start doing because you deserve to get to that end point, and I can pretty much guarantee that you’re more capable of doing that hard work than you think you are 💗🫶💛

Kinda chic to be late to the trend because you came up with 40 ideas and had to choose which were your favourites 😅

Working on yourself should always feel like it’s having an overall posit impact on your life and if it doesn’t I would strongly encourage you to take a step back and look at what you’re doing.

Because nothing is going to put you off making better choices for yourself than feeling like it’s bringing you down and making life harder overall.

Note that I’m not saying it shouldn’t feel like hard work. Because getting results doesn’t happen from not putting effort in. But that effort shouldn’t be destroying you, and it certainly isn’t necessary to burn yourself out to make incredible progress.

So if you’ve started to feel like your health and fitness journey is negatively impact you, take some time to look at what you’re doing before you give up, I promise you there’s always a better way to do things 💗🫶💛

I firmly stand behind this statement.
Because you can keep trying to find confidence just by changing things about yourself but nothing will make you feel better than proving that you are actually able to do so much more than you think.

It’s one of the thousands of reasons why I think lifting weights is so life changing. Because you’re proving to yourself that you can do difficult things, you can push past your comfort zone and you don’t give up on yourself. And above all else you prove that you can show up for yourself even when it would be easier not to.

And if you can do that you might just realise you’re strong enough to do other hard things too.

Whether it’s taking more solo trips, meeting new people or just having the ability to be your most authentic self, you are so much more capable than you probably give yourself credit for

You don’t have to take a huge leap to get started, but start looking at challenges as opportunities and you never know how far you could go 💗🫶💛

Am I big and bulky like a man yet?
Training to be strong and capable over all else and it feels so good 💪

Women already have their bodies policed heavily and I’m not here to tell you what you should or shouldn’t want to look like but as someone who’s been to the super skinny side I can confirm that this tastes a lot better than skinny ever did.

And maybe you still think I’m skinny and that’s ok too, I know that I’m always going to be petite. Being a naturally small girl it’s taken me a long time to feel like the work I’ve put in at the gym has actually paid off but that’s why I will always do the shameless flex because I know I’ve worked bloody hard for it.

And because I spent years under-fueling, over restricting and keeping myself as small as possible I’ve had even further to go. Not looking after myself and my body how I should meant it was really important that I spent time focused on getting healthy, eating properly and starting to build some muscle mass. It has not been easy. Mentally and physically. But it has been worth it.

I’m now in a place where above all else I train for performance
And I can honestly say that I care a lot less about whether I fit other people’s ideas of what I should look like because I know that I am the fittest I’ve been in my adult life and I’m proud of what I’ve built.

Here’s 5 little things to think about that might just change how you approach this coming week.

Because doing your best, looking after yourself better and investing in your body shouldn’t be stressful and complicated and definitely shouldn’t feel like a negative pursuit.

Let’s keep showing up for ourselves and making the best choices we can. And don’t forget to cheer on those around you who are trying to make positive changes too. You never know how much you might help someone just by showing that you’re supporting them.

Another day of sessions and classes completed at The Gym Group Norwich City ✅

Still have to pinch myself sometimes that I get to do this for a living. Working with the best bunch of people and getting them to feel their absolute best, it doesn’t get much better than that!

And we get to do it all over again tomorrow 💪
