✨Waxing FAQ’s✨

Q) It’s my 1st time, will it hurt?

A) First time is different for everyone, due to having different levels of sensitivity all over the body. As an experienced waxer I make it as comfortable experience!

Q) Do I have to have all hair removed from intimate area?
A) No. It’s your choice. I always advise to build up slowly. Going from a couple of times bikini line working up to a Hollywood if wanted.

Q) What’s the difference between all the intimate waxes?
A) ✨Bikini - hair is removed from outside the knicker line.
✨Brazilian - hair is removed leaving a landing strip.
✨Hollywood - All hair is removed.

Q) Will my hair grow back thicker?
A) No. waxing causes trauma to the hair follicle and over time the hairs become sparse.

Q) How long should I have the hair in-between sessions?
A)4-6 weeks. 4 weeks for quick hair growth and 6 weeks for slow growth.

Q) Can I shave before a wax?
A) No. If you want to shave before I advise at least 3 weeks before the appointment.

Q) Can I have if I have dry skin?
A) Yes. I recommend exfoliating the area to be waxed with a gentle sugar scrub and loofah or shower scrunchie. This will help to make a more comfortable waxing experience.

Q) I’m diabetic. Can I get waxed?
A) Unfortunately not. As the skin tends to be thinner it risks the skin to be more fragile.

Q) I can’t lie down. (high/low BP) Is that a problem?
A) Not at all. The bed can be raised.

Q) What’s the difference between hot wax and warm wax?
A)
✨Hot wax is used on the intimate area, it grips onto the hairs not the skin, the wax hardens when cold and can be peeled off in any direction.

✨Warm wax is used with strip paper, applied in the direction of the hair growth and removed in the opposite direction. Can be used anywhere on the body.

Q)What wax do you use?
A) Currently I use honey gold wax and gold film wax. As a therapist I’ve tried many waxes but have found this wax works well and glides onto the skin saving any stickiness and dragging of the skin!

Your burning q’s answered. I often get asked the following over the years:

Q) What blanket do I go under?
A) The top blanket or towel

Q) Where do you want my arms?
A) Down by your side on the bed.

Q) What do I remove?
A) Just pants or knicker is what is most comfortable. (For back massage you can keep trousers on if it makes you feel comfortable.

Q) I want a massage but can’t lie on my stomach?
A) Not a problem. It can be adapted by having you lie on your side with support.

Q) I’m pregnant. Can I still have a massage?
A) Yes you can after 13 weeks+ , massage is adapted to be comfortable, safe and nurturing for you and the baby.

Q) Do you need me to remove my necklace?
A) Yes please.

Q) Do I need to remove my earrings?
A) Only if they are large hoops that may get caught or pulled.

Q) Do you need me to be quiet?
A) It’s your treatment time. Some people like to chat but listen to what your body is telling you. It’s good to switch off.

Q) Can you feel anything?
A) Yes I’m trained and qualified to identify and find tension nodules and tension.

Q) Can I have firm hard pressure?
I will always go firm where necessary. Firm pressure is not always required to gain the most out of a massage. Using too much pressure can be too much for your body to take, leaving you feeling achy and sore and even bruised.
