Soft lights. Steam. A cooling jade eye mask.
And that wonderful feeling when your whole body finally starts to switch off.

This is our Japanese Head Spa experience. 🇯🇵

❗️🔆 Important 🔆❗️

This is the third time I’ve come across the same guy’s videos. I’m deliberately not mentioning his name because I don’t want to give him any publicity. But content like this can be genuinely harmful.

In his Reel, he’s sunbathing near the Equator at midday, covering himself in coconut oil, drinking celery juice, and claiming that healthy living is more important than sun protection. He suggests that if you eat well and your body is healthy, you don’t need proper sunscreen.

As a beauty professional, I can’t stay silent.

Yes, a healthy lifestyle and good nutrition are important for your skin. But they do not prevent UV-induced DNA damage. UVA and UVB rays damage the skin regardless of what you eat or drink.

The effects of sun damage often appear years later: pigmentation, premature ageing, actinic keratosis, basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and even melanoma.

In my own work, I regularly see sun-damaged skin and have referred several clients to dermatologists after spotting suspicious lesions. Sadly, some of them had never even heard of melanoma.

Last year, I also had two skin lesions removed from my own face, so this is personal for me. Sun protection isn’t a marketing gimmick—it’s part of protecting our health.

💭 For me, sun protection means more than sunscreen.

I always recommend physical protection first:
👒 Wide-brimmed hat
🧢 Baseball cap
🕶️ UV-protective sunglasses
🤍 Lightweight, long-sleeved linen or other breathable clothing.

When I use sunscreen, I personally prefer formulas without oxybenzone or octinoxate, and I generally choose mineral UV filters, such as titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, mineral UV filters, such as titanium dioxide (TiO₂) and zinc oxide.

That’s my personal preference.

Please don’t believe that celery juice or coconut oil can protect your skin from UV damage.

❗️Your skin remembers. The damage may not appear today, but 10–20 years later it can become actinic keratosis, basal cell carcinoma, melanoma or other skin conditions.

🔆 Enjoy the sun—but respect it.

Trust qualified professionals, not influencers chasing likes. A healthy lifestyle is essential, but it will never replace proper sun protection. ☀️
