This is one of those little things that doesn’t seem like a big deal… until you start doing it.
Whenever I remove a set of keratin bonds, I don’t just take them out and hope for the best.
I keep every section organised on my Hair Made Easi refit rackleft side, right side and back all in their own rows.
Why?
✨ It helps me keep the original placement.
✨ It keeps the lengths exactly where they need to be.
✨ My refits flow so much quicker because I’m not constantly trying to work out where everything came from.
✨ And it gives me a much more consistent result every single time.
Sometimes it’s not about working faster it’s about working smarter.
When I shared that we were borrowing the Jaecoo 8 for the weekend, I was genuinely shocked by how many messages I got.
So many of you said, “We’ve just ordered one!”, “We’ve got one and absolutely love it!” or “Please tell me what you think because we’re considering one!”
So… here’s my honest opinion.
We put it through a proper family weekend. Two kids, two dogs, a pram, enough bags for a small holiday and all the chaos that comes with it.
And I was so impressed.
It feels really luxurious without compromising on practicality. Every little detail feels well thought out, from fitting the car seats to loading the boot and actually enjoying the drive. It never felt like I was driving a huge seven-seater, which really surprised me.
As a family, we genuinely loved our weekend with it, and if you’re looking for a spacious family car that doesn’t feel like a big family car, I’d absolutely recommend giving it a look.

Would you believe she was once a blonde? 🤎
This rich chocolate shade has completely changed her look. It warms her skin, makes her eyes pop, and just gives that expensive, healthy hair feel
we actually used less hair this appointment.
I will forever die on the hill that less is more when it comes to extensions. So many people think they need loads of hair to get their dream look, but most of the time, you really don’t. It’s about using the right amount in the right places, not just adding as much as possible.
Then we finished it with these soft layers, They add movement, make the hair feel lighter, and let the extensions blend so naturally.
Used for our gloss 🖤

300g of hair… and before anyone asks, no, this isn’t something I offer as a standard service.
It actually goes against everything I believe in as a hair extension specialist.
My job has never been to fit as much hair as possible. It’s to create hair that’s intentional, balanced and safe for the client’s natural hair.
This particular transformation needed 300g because of the end goal we were creating and the client’s natural density. Every single application I do is completely bespoke some clients need 50g, others 120g, others 180g. There is no one-size-fits-all.
More hair doesn’t automatically mean better hair. The right amount of hair is what creates beautiful movement, longevity and protects the natural hair.
But Kia is my work wife & that means what rules?

This feels like such a weird post to share because I don’t usually talk about things like this…
But I’ve sat here for days wondering whether to post it, and I think if it starts a conversation that helps even one woman feel a little less alone, then it’s worth it.
I’ve had PCOS for years, but since having my son, once a month I’m hit with the most excruciating pain. The kind where you can’t think straight, you’re sweating, you feel sick and genuinely wonder if you’re about to pass out.
One month it got so bad I ended up in emergency care.
After being checked over, I was basically told that sometimes it’s just one of those things. I completely understand they ruled out anything immediately dangerous, but if I’m honest… I left feeling quite deflated. The pain was still there, I still didn’t really know why it was happening, and I had no idea how I was supposed to just get on with it every month.
As someone who’s self-employed & a Mum there isn’t really a “day off.” Clients are booked in, life carries on and somehow you’re expected to keep smiling when all you want to do is curl up with a hot water bottle.
Someone recommended the device to me, so I’ve decided to give it a go. I have absolutely no idea if it’ll help, but at this point I’m open to trying anything that might make those days feel a little more manageable.
But truthfully… this post isn’t really about the device.
It’s about asking for help.
If you’ve got PCOS, endometriosis, painful periods, or you’ve been through something similar… can you tell me what actually helped you?
Whether it’s something your GP suggested, something you bought, a supplement, a routine, literally anything.
I’d love this comment section to become somewhere women can come and read through real experiences, because if I’m feeling this lost, I know I can’t be the only one.
And if you’ve been silently dealing with this too… I’m giving you the biggest hug because to be honest it fu***ng sucks. 🤍
She’s literally everything I tell you not to do… and before anyone starts, she knows it too.
The funniest part is she’s my work bestie, so every appointment turns into us laughing because she knows exactly what I’m about to say before I even say it.
“You tell everyone not to have this much hair…”
“I know.”
“You know this isn’t what I’d usually recommend…”
“I KNOW.” 😂
But this is the thing about extensions… there are guidelines, and then there are people you’ve worked on for years, know inside out, and can safely customise for. Hair is never one-size-fits-all.
She gets away with things I’d never suggest for most people because I know her hair, her lifestyle and exactly how she wears and maintains it.
Please tell me I’m not the only one… who’s your client that completely breaks your own rules but somehow just makes it work?
Ever re-tipped a beautiful batch of hair, popped it back in… and then it’s shedding? 🥲
I know how frustrating that is, especially when you’ve spent so much time prepping it and you’re sat there wondering, “What have I done wrong?”
One thing I’d be checking straight away is how you’re encapsulating your keratin.
If the keratin is only wrapping around the outside of the bundle, the hairs sitting in the middle aren’t actually being held securely. They’ll slowly start slipping out, and before you know it, you’ve got shedding.
A lot of the time it’s because we’re trying to re-tip too much hair in one go, or the bundle hasn’t been fanned out enough for the keratin to reach every single strand.
It’s such a small tweak, but it can make such a difference to your retention.
I’d love to know… have you ever had a batch that just kept shedding and you couldn’t work out why? Or is this something you’ve already figured out?
Firstly… thanks so much for all the lovely comments about my haircut 😂(I’m choosing to believe they happened, don’t ruin it for me.)
Anyway… onto today’s little extension chat
Before I even think about retipping, I always spend a bit of time cleaning the bond up first. It sounds boring but honestly it makes SUCH a difference.
I’ll pull out all the naturally shed hairs, get rid of those annoying little short hairs that have worked their way into the bond and just make everything neat before I start. Future me is always grateful for taking those extra few minutes
Also… does anyone else always have straighteners next to them when they’re retipping or is that just me? I swear the second I run them over the hair everything behaves itself. It sits flatter, it’s easier to work with and I don’t feel like I’m wrestling it every five seconds
And before anyone asks… yes, all my tools are . At this point I don’t think I could be convinced to use anything else They just work, and when you’re spending hours handcrafting hair, having tools you trust makes such a difference.
It’s funny because people think the fitting is the hardest part, but honestly I think all these little prep jobs are what make the biggest difference in the final result 🤍
She might be everything I tell you not to do… but I can’t deny the end result. 😂🤍
This is 200g of weft and another 100g of tapes… yep, 300g in total.
Would I recommend this for everyone? Absolutely not.
But this is exactly why I always say extensions should never be a copy-and-paste service. Every head of hair is different, every lifestyle is different, and every install should be customised around that.
I’ve worked on her hair for years, I know exactly what it can handle, how she looks after it and what gives her the result she loves.
So yes… she’s the exception to a lot of my own rules. 😂
Now be honest… if I hadn’t told you it was 300g, would you have guessed?

People leaning into softer, more natural extensions is something I’m so here for.
Whether it’s choosing 50g less hair because you want that floaty, effortless feel… or embracing your natural curl pattern instead of chasing poker straight hair… it feels like we’re moving away from “more is more” and back towards hair that actually looks and feels like yours.
I genuinely think that’s where the industry is heading.
Extensions shouldn’t wear you. They should move with you, feel comfortable, and make people wonder if it’s even extensions at all.
Am I the only one noticing this shift, or are you loving the natural vibe too?
